Modbury Jets 3 - BOSA 2 (1-4)
An entertaining game with one of the Modbury Jets Strikers knocking an impressive hat-trick. Modbury held on tight in the second half to prevent BOSA taking the game. The 21 year Modbury keeper had a very good game, saving a penalty and keeping out a constant attack from BOSA in the second half.

I went to the Iggies' home ground for the first time today. I had heard about the Wolfburgers beforehand and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Yum!Bodø Glimt wrote:Sat division 3

I didn't see much of the two games against the Tigers as they were played concurrently with the division one ties. The score for the reserves suggests that the Iggies had it easy. (Actually I'm not sure if it was 4-0 or 5-0). The first and fourth goals were well taken (especially the fourth). The second was a free kick which the St Peters keeper had well covered until a deflection in the wall found him wrong footed and he couldn't really have done much about. The third goal should have been chopped off for offside. To be frank, it wasn't even close. These things happen.
The seniors game was a much closer affair. The referee was the same person who did the Modbury Jets v African Allstars the week before. Generally he is very good but today he made one bizarre decision (or non decision) right before halftime. With a shot on the St Peters goal it looked like the defender had handled it on the line. The referee blew his whistle immediately. I was a little confused as to whether he had ruled it crossed the line for a goal, or hand been handled and waranted a red card and a penalty. His decision... a drop ball on the six yard line. Unfortunately I wasn't in the best postion to see it but I was baffled as to why he stopped play if he wasn't going to make a decision.

For a club that was formed in only 6 months I think the boys down there at Grange have done a great job putting things together, considering the amounts of headaches involved in creating a new club.
Great start to the season boys.

Southern Knights ( 4 ) Modbury Vista ( 3 ).... I think
Reserves
Southern Knights ( 2 ) Modbury Vista ( 10 )
2 of Modbury's goals
2 of Southern Knights goals
Some action and Knights 4th goal
Ageless Gary Price who plays alongside his son Scott Price in Knights side !

great photo of G. Price
as a west adl supporter, i recall he was affectionately referred to as the 'gria', the old lady - due to his thin frame and 'road map' face. seems nothing has changed!!!
if he was in in his mid 20's in the mid 80's... that would make him approx...45yo
ahhh the memories!!!

4-1 was a Geat result for Gully, Great game played in very good spirits. Grove push the ball around very well, Gully took there chances well.Tilley_Park_Boys wrote:Sunday Div 2

Re: Results april 19th/20th
A's game was a great result for the boys. We definitely threw the game away in the B's, should have been over at half time but credit to Grove who seemed to find the legs to first pull a goal back then score a miraculous 2nd to earn a point. Looking forwards to *hopefully* having a full strength team including a proper goalkeeper for next reserve game as injuries and players in/out have hurt us so far this season. Time to step it up a gear before the leading pack gets away - looking forwards to the fulham clash.Tilley_Park_Boys wrote:Sunday Div 2
