Re: 17A Sides In 2008
Sorry CEO for confusing the issue. My reference to "coaching quality" was intended for DP and definitely not MZ, who by the way has had cup and championship success at the Junior level.
Re: 17A Sides In 2008
Well, I would counter-argue that by proposing that nearly anyone could coach an Adelaide City "A" team to Championship and Cup glory given 2 or 3 seasons.
But, well done to the lad.

Re: 17A Sides In 2008
Since we're talking coaches in the 17A Division, anyone know anything about the other 10 coaches. Are there any surprise packets in the Deck
Re: 17A Sides In 2008
Personally, I would keep an eye on Campbelltown's Under 17A coach. I know for a fact that he prowls these forums and having worked with him closely I know he is going to make Campbelltown one of the dark horses for this years league title.

ABE have beaten the so called 'best' team in the league and the almighty A. City was beaten by strikers. ABE have set themselves up very nicely after this result and they have now made themselves real contenders along with Para.
It's far too early to tell.
Just as i predicted ABE and Para setting the pace in the 17a competition. Both teams are looking the goods after the first 3 rounds.

I thought the 15s usually go to 17s. but if you know something i dont then please enlighten me.
the 15s normally go to the U16s!
unless they are better and should be played up! which i doubt all of them would be!
other than that!...
Dont visualize beating the keeper, Visualize destroying the keeper.
Re: 17A Sides In 2008
most of the para team from last yrs 15s moved up to 17s. only about 3 or 4 changes from last years team

Re: 17A Sides In 2008
(I expect Campbelltown to run it very close this season. The squad is in good shape and has great symmetry and balance. The majority of last years 16's are in the squad, plus the better players from last years 15's as well as new players from Modbury's 15s.
The coach is very well prepared and knows what he wants from his team - the boys, I have heard, are starting to come around to his ideas as well. If it all merges together successfully on the park, and a few mentalities are corrected by the coach, they could be quite difficult to beat this season.)
Explains why 17s for Modbury are not doing so well, LEFT OVERS FROM 15s maybe!
This can be a problem with coaches poaching players.

Everyone that matters (or knows the truth), knows Campbelltown didn't "poach" anyone. And as such, knows that you are stirring sh1te.
I would suggest that if you were concerned with Modbury's current position, perhaps you could offer the new Coach a hand in lifting the team from their current position.

Wrong then;
players can trial where-ever they like.
Clubs & players can show loyalty to one and other but unless it is reciprocated (phew needed and dicksunary for that one) it won't mean a thing.

Modburys Alive,
You might want to look at the Coach and Manager that selected the 17`s squad for 2008.
That was Modbury`s downfall this season. Blame them both for your current position.
As some players moved on at 17 trials & others that got dropped down to the 16`s, are far better players that are currently playing in that team at present.
Oops, I forgot that the Coach who selected the team & got involved in the 19`s trials, is no longer there at the Club in way at all.
Did he do that on purpose ????????????????
Don`t blame a coach that has moved on to another Club and is doing well, for your poor results at present. ( 17`s )
Also the players that were forced out the Club, and others that chose to leave on their own accord, aren`t to blame either.
Good luck to the Coach who took over, would have been hard for him . Wish him all the best for the season.
I suppose next post , you will blame the 16`s Coach at Modbury for your performance.
He is doing ok.
( Think he should have got the 17`s job over the first Coach selected for 2008 )
My view.

Yes Wizards can see your point, Personally i dont care how the 17s are going. And Yes some 16s are looking stronger than 17s.
I am not so sure how a manager influences team Trials? That comment sounds a little personal.
I'm assuming you have never been on a committee to see what takes place, a committee member that attends ALL meetings.
Many clubs have made bad choices with coaches and Modbury is no exception.
It looks to me that Modbury has weeded out Coaches that didnt fit their direction.
Starting from the 11s this year there is quality coaches coming through.
Typically amongst those that don't volunteer time to clubs, will be those that dont agree with how things are run, all i can say is instead of complaining people should join a committee and see for themselves how clubs are run!
Thats not aimed at you personally, but those that come on these forums and spread their anger and frustration at clubs or people.(who are volunteers)
Ultimately players choose to go where they like HOWEVER Coaches that switch clubs do ask players to go with them and then loyal players to clubs are tossed aside because of coaches bringing their own. It happens all the time in every club!

Yes, you are right in one thing, haven`t been on a committee before, and probably won`t.
Seen too many people having problems among committee members, that puts me off.
But the point of your argument regaurding coaches poaching players was & is incorrect , reguarding last year.

Although that could change next year as where the 16's finish will detemine what grade the 17's are in in 2010....at the moment the 15's determine where the 17's play...

I would think most of the 16s go 17Bs or even C's some of the more stand out players will definatley go to the A's but still majority of the 15A's get the 17A's spots
