The B's had a fairly comfortable 3 nil win. No goals in the second half again though.

Cheers to the Lion boys for hanging around for a drink or three. Not many of them but they made up for it in the amount each of them drink.

On a side note, how good was the BBQ!! absolute quality. chicken Burgers, Yiros, Steak Sangers!! Top quality chefs I think!!
Trying to take on the greek cuisine hey jay! Not too sure if us aussies and poms know how to do them too well. i will be sure to try one when we are there soon. I will write up my report and be sure to post it on here.

keeping on the food note though. I did make sure i stayed behind for some of the famous Florina chicken wings. Oh my god..... i wish the missus hadn't bothered getting dinner ready. I could have eaten those all night! Rats had one of the chicken rolls during the game too and he liked it so much he had to get seconds! Great hospitality there as usual and good to see some of our younger lads stick around in the clubrooms after the game too.

The Yiros were popular, still learning how to wrap them. Sold out of them. Much to Uncle Crackers disgust though, we are cooking on the gas

He is getting there. His quad should be ready to go in another 2 weeks i would say. He will miss the pontian game and then we have the long weekend break, then he will be back. He is just a very very keen man! Both he and I are watching on the sideline and cant wait to get out there to do our bit!

A's - Ingle Farm 3-2 USC Lion
B's - Ingle Farm 3-0 USC Lion

A's -

Farm dominated most of the first half and it wasnt to long before the deadlock was broken taking advantage of a denfensive error. Lion hit back later on in the half from a deflected clearance, which fell nicely for an easy tap in. Some fine keeping kept the scores level, as a Farm freekick was well saved by an outstreched keeper. Farm pulled ahead again, this time from a poorly defended corner which hit 'Farmer Joe' in the guts and into the net, 2-1 at the break.

Lion drew level again early in the 2nd half, with a nice strike outside the box taking a slight deflection and leaving the Farm keeper with no chance, 2-2. Lion started to grow in confidence and controled the ball more than they did in the first half half, until another turnover cost us dearly. Lion were on the attack, but again turned the ball and the Farm took full advantage as all good sides do to make it 3-2.

It was a tough game for us, but we will take alot of positives into game against West Beach next week. I know its early doors but I would consider the Farm stronger than the Downs last year. Strong favourites for the title providing they keep their squad together.

Thanks to the Farm for the hospitality and good luck until we meet again.

PS. Jay, The Yiros were good, but still a long second to Uncle Crackers wings! :P

I know, Florina kill us in the food stakes.

Any word on the Ponitan BBQ. I'm looking forward to that game.

All we can do is offer some variety. The chicken Schnitzel Burgers that we do are good. Proper breast meat, not processed.

Reserves was very one sided to Vista, we played great football and the result reflected the performance.

First team game was totally oposite, very hard fought derby by both teams and neither side stopped till the 90 minutes were up. Both teams had patches where they were on top of the other. Return game later in season should be another cracker!

Yes, sadly injuries already for gully reserves and a few key personnel shuffle today cost them. Don't take too much away from vista though who were clearly a bit more hungry than gully to try and right some spankings over the last few seasons to gully, looking forwards to the return leg on a bigger pitch and hopefully some more able bodies.

2 soft goals in the first 20 cost gully badly, IJ goal all class tho to seal the deal in 2nd half. Hawkins providing the crowd with a good laugh or 3 with his antics on field. :)

A's game good entertainment.
Have to agree with you ya mug. Gully reserves just couldn't get going, shouldn't need any motivation to beat Vista. Looked flat before the game and it just carried on to the pitch. Im sure the boys will bounce back and be hungry for the 3 points against the Grove.
As for the A's game, typical derby day. If people were paying to watch they definately would have got there moneys worth. Great to see a heap of the old gully players out there watching. A's need to take that intensity into next week and the B's need to take a leaf out of their book!
