agree the game was a scrapy one, certainly not a highlight game for anyone me thinks, a least for us we couldnt play worse (taking nothing away from Cumby). I am sure that overall we will improve, in fact we already have, just got to keep going...

div 1
Gawler V Pt Pirates 4-1

The girls fought hard today and it was tight at halftime (0-0) but the girls made the most of their hard work and opportunities in the second half to run out the game 4-1 winners. We take nothing away from pt, they made us fight hard til the very end. was a good game alround

Well done girls!!!

fulham and olympic

olympic dominated the first half nwell and truley and after a firm talking too by coach Max the girls pulled their finger out and with olympic failing to continue their first half form ended up losing 5.1
taking nothing away from olympic who will have an excellent season with Roo, Kat, Marie etc. should improve in the coming weeks under coach jonno!!
goodluck Olympic

Just thought the final ball wasnt working, defended well but coming out the defencive half was a problem.. Wernt hitting a players feet, to many balls running to the keeper..

The defensive side of our game wasnt as tight as week before. A lack of conmunication on the pitch ended in 3 goals. Passing certainly wasnt to feet. Sounds like we didnt do much at all but when we played bad and lose 4-1 when last year it was 6-0 and 7-0 each time we played, well something is slowly starting to work. We will see what they are like when the full squad is assembled soon.

topgun has a point about the running through the midfield.

in saying all this the girls had a good spirit to fight back and snatch a goal.

can only get better after this game.

I agree that Para Hills looked better than I remember them being previously.
It did take Cumby about 45 minutes to settle down, and there were several 'near misses' which could have seen the scoreline blow out - near misses dont count though, and credit to PH for some desperate defending at times (though I'm sure that 'Tottenham Hotspur' would prefer not have to do that!).

In Div 2, Cumby beat UniSA 3-1. My thanks to UniSA for a good natured/friendly game.
It was a bit of a challenge at times though, with Cumby having 10 players for much of the game (and only 9 at some times) due to absences and injuries - but the Cumby girls put in the effort and did well to contain UniSA when they were down on numbers (and create a quite a few missed chances too).

Hang on peoples.

I started the trend.

Anyway, what I have to say is not demeaning to the sport and the great players that make the competition. I do not demean the hard working volunteers and parents.

My comments are directed at those that get paid to promote the sport and to ensure that they have a direction in which the game will achieve its potential. I WILL comment harshly against those who use players as expendable items and when all else fails dispose of people in an unprofessional and questionable manner.

if I am a F$%wit then tell me where I have failed in my pursuit of ensuring that the girls who aspire to the big time are afforded the best opportunity which I frankly think....DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS CURRENT ENVIRONMENT. DO NOT resort to vulgarities as it shows your lack of understanding and appreciation of the Big Picture.

You will see in all my posts, it is all about the players and when I ask..."where are the SA girls in the National squad" Then I think its a fair question. Its all about taking SA from being a comp where everyone holds hands and says that near enough is good enough to a comp that develops the best player who can shake foundations. WE HAVE HAD players like that, that have been discarded.

As players have been turned over, I advocate fixed terms for all people involved at the high end of the sport. This avoids complacency which in turn breeds contempt. People are making good money for very little return on investment.

I will brace myself for a barrage of vulgarity however, please send some bouquets.
