State Coaches and Trials

Post by batumgoesthedynamite »

Have the coaches been chosen?

Have trial dates been set for respective age groups?

The last I know was that they had started to advise people if they had been successful in getting a coaching gig, but that was about 2 weeks ago.
You would imagine that by now they would have things organized...... but apparently not

Oi enough of the sarcasm. If you haven't got anything constructive to say then don't say it on this forum. Maybe you should go and help sawsa to get the seaosn sorted out. (gals, was this a good attempt at trying to be positive and only say nice things and have a go at people with a point of view that may not be in line with yours???)

I was told a similar thing when I asked about it a couple of weeks ago, and that trials would most like likely be starting in early April.
It seems to be fairly common knowledge who the U17s coach is (TJ - or so I'm told anyway), but I havent heard anything else.

Anyone interested will just have to keep watching the SAWSA web site to see when things are going to happen - but I hope it's soon to give the teams plenty of time to prepare.

Well, does anyone have any update on U14 & U15 State coaches and trials?

U17 trials are over, and we are already into second week in April.
By my estimation that probably means the earliest that these state teams will be selected and start training will probably be early May (very late April at best) - doesn't leave the coaches long to get the squads working together does it?

I'm not having a dig at SAWSA or anyone in particular, just want to see the girls and the coaches get the best chance possible to perform at their best when they go to their respective national comps.

Under 12 State Team Tuesday 29 and Friday 2 May 2008 – 6.30pm – 8.00pm

I would assume that it would take place at SAWSA Park, opposite Annesley College on Greenhill Rd but it doesnt actually say that on the website.

Never heard of Richard Preston.

Just thought some people would like some back ground on him.

richard preston was an extremely talented player in the local leagues with White city and i believe Modbury and played at top level for over a decade. Had a couple coaching spells at Mens levels as Cumberland, but that all i can remember. Good soccer brain.

If he is the player I am thinking of He Richard played national league with both City and West Adelaide. Again if my old brain works well he had stints at Modbury and Para Hills as well. Maybe at Hills when he was an up and coming (like most kids) start at Para then leve.

Not saying that just because he played national league he will be a good coach but again if old brian working he did coach at cumby and they can say whether good or bad.
