Pontian Eagles
Has anyone played them in preseason yet? And what were there thoughts?
There was alot of hype around Pontians last season. Just wondering what opposition teams thought of them? Heard they can play a physical game. We (USC) beat them in the Cup but apparently they had rested a few players.
Without beating around the bush i'd like to know who some of there good players are and if they have picked anyone up this season?

Re: Pontian Eagles
underestimate them at your own peril. they pushed west adl (state league) until they ran out of legs and eventually lost 3-1. they would be closec to having more experience (per head) than all other teams combined!!!
anastasiou, chriso, carapetis, hara, misa, stama are all quality.
however... sometimes your strengths become your weaknesses!!!!

I think the days having 11 older experienced players in Div 1 and being competitive are gone. Most of the top div teams have a very good combination of experienced older players and some very good young wiper snipers. If Pontians have the mixture they will very competitive… but if they are not fit they will struggle… from what I have been told they will certainly play good entertaining football at the least.

Surprised to see Peter Nedza at Pontians, thought he signed for Parafield this year.
