He will do us all proud, but he started in 2006 playing Futsal At St. Jays and also winning that Under 14 Competition with his team Raiders, then followed up with the Vikings...

omg the stingrays or vikinkgs or whatever futsal is not accredited by futsal sa. I don't understand why they can't swallow their pride and join with futsal sa. I bet if you got one of your "state teams" and put them against an ffsa state team you would be in for a hard time.

Hi GK1, this is what you wrote!!

GK1 do you have any idea what you are talking about, futsal sa teams play outdoor version of futsal. I was apart of the FuTSAL SA in the past as a player / captain but we played all year round. Why do you think no players go further they choose part time players to play futsal. How will they teach if they dont know the game themselves. For years people have tried but its time for FUTSAL SA to step down, whether is be Vikings or Stingrays their direction is to give every player an opportunity to play at any level. We are not here to bag anyone but I feel its time FUTSAL SA did step down, some of them should join the Stingrays. There would not be a team here is South Australia that could come close to beating Stingrays. Let's all stop the bickering in doesnt help kids or parents that wish to try the sport. We will do more damage by arguing, allow them to try for themsleves. Tom & Ray we all want the best for the kids, stop it. Just tell people what you have to offer leave the rest to them.

Our Stingray boys under 12's won the doule this week winning Premiers & Grand Finalists for Summer Season.
Our Stingray boys under 14's won the double also this week wiining Premiers & Grand Finalists for Summer Season.
Our Stingrays Youth Boys also won the double this week winning Premiers & Grand Finalists for Summer Season.

Fantastic effort by all who played, thank you to all the parents who were invloved and for bringing your kids to the games. the cheering was getting louder as the Grand Final was played.

if you wish your child or yourself to play ring 1300 FUTSAL for the closest venue to you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Firstly, before I address the bolded section above; a sincere Congratulations to all the above who won their finals and leagues. Regardless of who, where or what you play, that's an excellent achievement.

Secondly, you have requested Ray & Tom (and whoever else that joins in - me included) to, "just tell people what you have to offer leave the rest to them". But you have criticised the "opposition" earlier in your post, instead of just telling people what you have to offer. So in the end, you are no different. Rattling off your history with Futsal SA doesn't give you the credentials to make statements comparing the past to the present if you are no longer a part of it.

And I really do not understand why anyone would want the FFSA, the governing body of football (soccer and the like) in this state to stand down. In my opinion, everyone should be looking to align themselves with the FFSA, who have the backing of the FFA - until such a time as this changes.

Again, this is my opinion and by no means am I talking/writing for the FFSA, Stingrays or anyone else.

As a matter of fact I have played in three state teams as part of Futsal SA and won best player two years in a row and runner up in the tornament MVP and was a captain. But that is in the past now. What I am saying is you guys should join Futsal SA as a club or something. I think it is good that you are promoting the game because I really enjoy playing it. When we played NSW and ACT they were full time futsal players and I am the first to admit it was harder to beat them. If you guys train all year round that is good because we will be able to compete with the best states and you can show the country how good you are. I know the vikings have a very good system in qld when we went to the gold coast was very well marketed, obviously bigger population and more stadiums. I don't want to cause trouble I am saying that if you are serious about futsal join the ffsa. That is my opinion and I don't know everything eg politics and past incidents with futsal sa but I'm sure they would accept you.

Hi GK1,
I want to say this once please listen carefully, its not whether they will accept us its whether we would like our club or to put our stamp on anything they are doing. We guarantee our work and our programs. The Singrays team can match any other state. Futsal SA Team wouldnt have a chance against a well drilled side. Let me ask you a question, why do teams use rotation? What is the benefit of using rotation? Why is it important for a keeper to be used as a fifth player on court not just to stay in goals? When would you use him?
Stingrays will be touring BRAZIL for the Futsal World Cup in October. Packages will be available for those who wish to come along.
Stingrays will be touring Brazil regularly to learn and understand the Brazilian philosophy. It is more important for us to develop players to their fullest potential. You know whats funny GK1 even if they decided to run it fulltime none of them are experienced, maybe experienced referees who are trying their best!!!!

Tony Lascala has no idea nor does he know the game of futsal. People seem to forget I know this person better that anybody so lets leave it at that, I will never trust this man as long as he lives. Their is no coach here in South Australia that can match us.

We will be having a Interstate Futsal Challenge here in June, stay tuned.
We allow players from all over South Australia to trial, that gives every player the same opportunity.

If you wish to get into the Stingrays Futsal / Soccer / Beach Soccer programs ring 1300 FUTSAL to register you team.

Thank you once again.

All the eastern states use the rotation system which is a very good tactic I found. Rotation is basically when two or three defenders push the ball across the back and rotate after 3 or 4 passes one of the players usually slip through down the sides of the defence and the other players are lining up a the top of the circle to tap it in. I remember when I was playing I was used as a sweeper for most games. Queensland used the rotation system well with their goalkeeper in the middle of the court. The only problem with the rotation system is that the defenders are caught square when they lose the ball. That's why we bet them 6-0 in one of our games. That's fair enough of what you think of tony I don't know him very well but I think it would be good for your program to become official. With the FFSA.

Listen sting as I am only going to say this once!

How can you call yourself a professional outfit the team you named in this post is a bunch of scrubbers at best! And they made the quarter finals. Either your playing the Queensland u15 blind state team or the competitions you enter in are rubbish. As for a personal attack on Tony S he is a fine futsal coach and has coached 3 teams who have won the NATIONALY accredited fustsal tournament, not one of your Viking money making tournaments. At the end of the day you operate just for $'s you may pretend to care, and im sure you will continue to care while parents fork out thousands under a false impression that there children could one day play professionally. If you wish it would be my pleasure to contact the players i played with in the youth futsal team to play against your "elite" players that your fine institution pumps out.

If you wish to waste your money, being told your a great player even if your not and put a big smile on the vikings bank account, ring 1300 FUTSAL to register you team.

He'll probably pick you up on not using the term, "pivot".

But apart from that; surely no-one associated with FFSA/Futsal SA can know about Futsal and it's tactics?

And oh yeah, that was sarcasm.

Hi Jets1
Sorry mate, you have your facts mixed up.
Your are talking to sting (Spiros) and his 1300 number yet you mentioned Vikings in your post.
So you are 100% sure on your facts Spiros and the Stingrays have no affiliation with the Vikings in any way.
If you want to know about the Vikings then visit our website its all there including the recently announced Vikings Australian Men's and Women's Teams. cheers Tom

Hi GK1
With all that experience and a former captain as well, we would like to have you on board as a coach.
We are looking for good coaches to take teams away interstate and possibly OS, as I have just come back from a 2 week tour of NZ. Let me know if you are interested cheers Tom.

A better post than the one above

A true story of American competence

Ahh the YANKS !!
Sometimes it DOES take a Rocket Scientist!! (True story) Scientists
at Roll Royce built a gun specifically to launch dead chickens at the
windshields of airliners and military jets, all travelling a maximum
velocity.
The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with
airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.

American engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on
the wind-shields of their new high-speed trains.
Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the American engineers.
When the gun was fired, the engineers stood shocked as the chicken
hurled out of the barrel, crashed into the shatterproof shield,
smashed it to smithereens, blasted through the control console,
snapped the engineer's back-rest in two and embedded itself in the
back wall of the cabin like an arrow shot from a bow.

The horrified Yanks sent Rolls Royce the disastrous results of the
experiment, along with the designs of the windshield and begged the
British Scientists for suggestions.

You're going to love this.....

.

Rolls Royce responded with a one-line memo:

"Defrost the chicken."

SA has some great potential.

Perhaps what SA needs to be truly competitive and progressive in futsal nationally is a united front rather than than the current segragated approach. Why arent all Futsal clubs under one association. Pride? Money Making? Power? Politics?

Well I think all reasons are riduculous!

Pride? ---- Get over it and unite!
Money Making? ---- There isnt enough money at stake to dilute and divide our state!
Power? ---- Your legends in your own lunchbox!
Politics? Yes becuase everyone believes that theres something in the above three reasons.

My thoughts .....

Get together under FFSA and get on with it or always accept mediocrity.
