yeh and theres heaps coming through the younger age groups! Tony's youth team this yr has players from blue eagles, metro, adel city, croydon, NAB, para hills, modbury and campbelltwn so its a fair mix, unlike rob bruno's team last yr who had like 6 metro players

Who is the bold guy from modbury that you are talking about ?

The bold (meaning bald) guy is Sean Noel and he took his Under 16 team to the Semi Finals and they were very unlucky not to have a full team due to suspension and injury.
We have to put this down to experience as a lot of new players were in all age groups, some new coaches as well.
All players representing the State must be registered to Futsal SA and the FFSA before considered for selection.
Of course there may be a lot of talent in other competitions, but this is why it is important for all competitions to be under the one Governing body. This was when calling for trials, there will be players from all parts of the state, until this happens Im afraid it will have to stay the way it is.
By the way three players were selected in the State teams from the Salisbury Competition.

If you are serious about Futsal Coaching then you need to be accredited as a Futsal Coach.
If you are serious about Futsal Refereeing then you need to be accredited as a Futsal Referee.
Courses for the above which are accredited to the FFA are being held soon.

The FFSA will be in control of Futsal State teams in the future and only accredited Futsal Coaches will get the first preference to be one of the coaches of a State Representative side.
The more players registered under the Governing body FFSA the better as there will be more to pick from in each age group.
In the past only Futsal SA registered players were getting seleted and this is because they are registered to the Governing Body.
All is needed now is that all Futsal Centres become affiliated or members of the FFSA and all players register properly.

Hey ray just wondering if you are taking an open men's team this year?? If so where would you be picking the players from?? I played for three years and enjoyed it a lot. I am now too old to play for the youth team though. Do we have to play in the Magill comp to be selected??

Raymond, i, like GK1 am also too old to play youth men and have played youth men for the past 3yrs. This yrs comp at magill was better preperation for squads to be selected however i spoke to Futsal staff in canberra and they look to send n open team of 3,4 experienced players and a good blend of youth. A suggestion would be to change the u19 comp to u21 therefore being able to pick youth men and senior men from a strong competition. I know you very well personally so PM if you would like to know more. GK1 would agree with me

Hi Guys
Unless you are a registered futsal player and currnetly playing in a santioned competition, you cannot really expect to be selected for a State team as coaches watch players all year round playing Futsal.
Re the changing of the U19 to the U21 to suit yourself, Im afraid that is not up to me to do as I dont run the National Futsal Championships. FFA and Capital football are running these and all other tournaments at the moment.
I believe they should have and Under 21, Under 23 and an Open Men.
May be they should have an Under 17 and Under 18 as well.. as there is a big gap between 16 and 19...
We are all in the hands of the FFSA at this stage as far as State selections, but if you love the game of Futsal and would like to be selected, then maybe you should consider playing all year round so as to get better at it. Its very easy for a Futsal player to play outdoor but its never for an outdoor player to play Futsal just in the offseason and expect to be selected in the State team.

If you are too old for the Youth team, you must be now around 20 or 21. I feel that you guys should be playing Futsal in our Open Competitions to have a chance of being selected in an open Men team. We cannot just get players from Outdoor to play in our State teams..those days are long gone..
I have been trying to get a competitive Open Men team from our competitions and we certainly have the talent, but players need to be committed to Futsal not just the outdoor game.
If you have played Futsal from your younger days and have been getting selected in our State teams right up to Under 19, you must be good enough to trial for our Open Men team.. so come out and play at Magill either Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday but if you want to pay at a high level, the Tuesday night competition is very high, but so then is Wednesday...

It's fine to criticise but you also need to be able to provide some solutions.

Have you been to a nationals before???

Not really there are worse states in the comp like QLD, WA and Northern NSW. We are known to be the most professional and well behaved out of all the other states.

Our standard is not as good as the eastern states but it is pretty well run considering the resources provided by the FFSA.
