i make the distinction in that i have a more emotional connection to Lazio cos thats where my family is from and thats the first football team i knew i had to support. i love Liverpool, I follow their results and news and player movements etc etc but the emotional attachment of where my roots come from is there (well i hope not!), i jsut love to follow the team. is your family from Milan 97?
obviously the follower comment was lost on you. i.e I would rather be a shepherd than a sheep that blindly follows.

Sounds like you're a two timer. The whole idea of being able to support more than one team passionately is lost on me. You could explain it until you're blue in the face and I still wouldn't get it.

Is my family from Milan? Not sure what you mean, Milan is that filth of a football club run by the media magnate/ politician/ wherever else I can make a buck Berlusconi, but if you mean the city Milano then no.

My family is Australian through and through and proud of it. Do I have family that live in Milano yes, are they Interisti yes, have I been there many times for extend periods of my life yes, have I been a regular in CN yes.

However my reasons for following Inter have nothing to do with family although admittedly early childhood memories of Milano may have been factor.

Oh I see now... so yes like me, you support Inter as you have an attachment to Milano (unfortuantely the wrong colour for you). And i see what your saying about being a supporting and being a fan... you dont understand it, i accept that.

but answer me this... how many goals did Inter score in 180 mins of football against Liverpool, and how many did Liverpool score? surely you can understand that?!?!

Wrong colour? You try and paint yourself up as a die hard ultra but your showing your true colours. Why would I support Milan because they have a few more trophies?!?! I wasn't a fan of the red brigade in the 70's and I'm definitely never been a fan of the media, so why would I follow Milan?

Maybe I should take a leaf out of your book and follow another club in another league so I can wave whichever flag suits me on any given day, pfft.

No I was referring to the fact that AC Milan as a club has a whole lot more class than Inter Milan... nothing to do with trophies and i dont support/follow/fan of AC Milan, so its not bias... AC Milan are a better club. I dont paint myself as a die hard ultra, I live in Australia and don't go to Rome peroidically so how can I be? I support Lazio with passion, that is all.

I'm also follow / am a fan of Liverpool because of what they represent as a club, which again is whole lot more calssier than Inter Milan, on and off the pitch. Especially this morning.

You cannot be a fan of more than one club, in fact I'm not even sure you can be a fan living in another country.

FAN - Short for fanatical. How can you be fanatical about more than one team? How can you be fanatical if you do not attend the actual matches but just watch on tv or listen on radio etc..

Didn't realise being "calssier" was a prerequiste to supporting a side obviosuly helps explain why you had to choose a second side as Lazio is reknown world wide as a class outfit.

Maybe if Inter release some D&G calendars for you to do your load over you might be happier

Go back to 79-84 when I started following football and tell me what Milan are worth. It's only been by using the media has Milan support base started to match Inter. Reason the MTV generation.

Hawkesy when you spend $4k just to fly back to watch a game here and there plus spend most of your life deprieved of sleep because you can't sleep while the game is being played I'd say that makes you fanatical. European fans have it easy makes me laugh when they complain about having to get up at 5am for the Australian GP.

97... the only reason Inter has so many fans without the aid of club forced Media is because Ronaldo played for you.

It would be like Inter signing Beckham right now to gain about 52349082394 dollars in support form 2349083242 more fans.

Milan has alot of fans not thru D&G... that only happened last month. We win trophies all the time in the last 27-28 years remember?... I seem to remember our team being named the best team in history thru FIFA, without Pele being in the team so it cannot be biased...

Your biggest problem 97 is that Diego Maradona didnt play for you I think... Maybe you should keep living in that 79-84 era and stay there.

Ronaldo made your team. Even I used to watch an Inter game on television just to watch Ronaldo....

I am a fan Hawksey, I have been to Italy to watch Milan play because I am so fanatical and I am apart of an Ultra fanbase. I cheered with the fans and I grew closer to the club I have supported since I got a plush piece of AC Milan merchandise as a child...

Lesson 1
Derby D'Italia

google away little boy.

and regarding Ronaldo & Beckham   I'm not even going to bother with that. All I'd say is walk into CN with a Ronaldo top on.

Lesson 1 for you...

Image

I'll walk into CN with that picture tatooed on my forehead, I think they might get a feather and try to tickle me or vaguely aim a scooter at me from higher ground and hit their own fans instead.

Try walking into CS with any color blue on whatsoever... in fact. try walking up the stairs to CS with any color other than red on.

E Milan merda, Milan Milan merda,
E Milan merda, Milan Milan merda!

$4k - get a better travel agent!!

I do that eat least once a year now and one of my first ports of call is the Den. Last time I actually got my dad to drive me from the airport to Bristol Rovers for a game. He wasn't happy. BUT how can I compare my level of support and fanaticism to my mates who go home and away every week. My mate Danny, hasn't missed a single game (friendlies, league cup, auto windscreens etc..) for over 10 years. How can I possibly compare myself to him.

can't compare to your mate as logisitcs aren't the same. Would he make the same committment as you if he lived here? Probably but you get my drift.

In that case, I presume you are tea total, because I spent that (minus my air fare) in my 3 nights in italy in september, not to mention how much i spent in England, wales and scotland.

It pays to be a local, although I don't mind the bars in Milano they put on a decent feed for their drinkers.

I only ever stay in Milano the day before the game and leave as soon as possible unless I have family commitments. Not really my type of city.
