Must be getting close to the start of the season!

Hope season 2008 is a big improvement from the last 2. Hope we see Campbelltown and other developing teams make inroads and provide a good level of competition in the PL.

With many former sasi scholarship holders free to play club, the level across the board will improve.

Rock on charity game and go Fulham!

Bull shit.

Unless you mean by going and getting state coaches to fill your ranks and a SASI coach (your either one or the other) and then to hint to players that come to us and you will be much better off in trying to get into state teams.....

This is whats being said, of coarse not by everyone cause alot are to gutless to say anything

Clubs do there best for they all want to survive, so if players dont want to go there want can a club do.

It will be great to see changes, hopefully very soon
Peace Out XD

I play for a club with a fantastic attitude and therefore great appeal. We have never had to poach players, players have come to us due to what our club stands for. Having played against some of the clubs that are struggling to make a mark in the prems if they tidied up their attitude eg: not rocking up drunk to games and smoking at half time and by tidying up the way they conduct themselves eg: "we are losing......oh who gives a f*** " and "our coach is f**ked " u will find there may be more interest in ppl wanting to play for u

The year i got into sasi and was a state player i decided to make the move to elizabeth vale from adelaide city!
It was much closer to home for me!
However altho i was playing prems it just wasnt great.
Really clubs in those situations that have poor numbers at training and other things that have been previously pointed out as well as the struggle for players is very hard to stick with.
After a season it was clear that staying there would be a poor choice in the dev. of my personal game.
So from someone who has tried it believe me without anyone putting the thought of leaving in your head its already there.. the more established clubs are an obvious choice for players who want to develope.. and unless a club can get a core group of talented girls from the young ages to stick with it and build it with a good quality coach & members putting in the hard yards to give the girls state like qualities at club then ull find it very hard to keep girls there.
Credit to Fulham when they worked their way up ..they provided those things and look how that turned out!

Yes. State coaches at clubs do have an unfair advantage. What's the solution? Don't know.

If you look at the stats, the composition of some past state teams are sometimes disproportionately swayed towards the club of "a coach".

Create better or more learning oppurtunities and courses for coaches to help them - however nothing beats experience.. but it all helps

as i have said before all sasi players should go in a draft like the afl teams do and the clubs have to pick from them like a ballot, that is the only fair way and will even up the league, and NO coaches should be coaching sasi and a club......

....and what about the clubs who have developed their own sasi players?? Surely (as per the rules) they are entitled to all their 'home grown' players - just so long as they dont go taking sasi players from elsewhere (in which case they can only register 3 sasi players).
Clubs who have 'developed' their own juniors to the point where they have a number of sasi players simply cant afford to take sasi players from elsewhere because then their 'home grown' players are forced to miss out or move club.

id rather sit on the sidelines and support my team that way as opposed to having my name go into a hat n drawn out at random only to find out i have to go to a club i hate. im no sasi player but im sure that would be the general feeling about that thought coyote

look im not saying what i posted was the right thing to do but we need to even them out to make the comp more competitive or more teams will fold and be lost to the game all together,,just a idea,

Much as I initially disliked the rule on how many sasi players a club can register (i though it was a bit restrictive at first), these days I have come to see some value in it.
It does effectively force the 'bigger' clubs not to accept new sasi players from elsewhere if they already have at least 3, because then they have to 'do the dirty' on their existing players. This goes some way towards spreading the talent accross the clubs and evening things up a little.
Who knows coyote, you may find that your 'YS' player who has just left Toros to go to a 'bigger' club ends up having to come back if she gets offered a sasi scholarship in the next couple of years, because maybe that 'bigger' club then wouldnt be able to accomodate her if that happened?? (That's where the 3 year rule to become a 'homegrown' player comes in.)

incorrect pvfc. if that player has gone from one club to another and then obtains a scholarship then they are able to stay at that club and that club could potentially field more than 3 sasi players so long as they dont go signing any additional players. otherwise it discourages clubs from developing talent
