JPL ROUND 6 ACTION

Post by BillShankly »

This Sunday you will see many of the Junior Premier League player’s putting in an extra effort to try and score a goal for their team.

Why you ask? Sunday is Mother’s Day and as always every year, every kid is trying to give that special gift to their mother’s, a goal in the match!

This weekend in the Under 17 A Competition, the big clash will be at TK Shutter Reserve, when MetroStars host Adelaide City on Sunday at 10:30am. Adelaide City is currently undefeated in the league and is also the only team to not concede a goal this season, however, this battle is sure to be fought to the final whistle.

Adelaide Blue Eagles will be looking to overcome their 7-0 thumping last weekend to South Adelaide Panthers, when they meet a Cumberland United side riding on the 4-0 victory over MetroStars last weekend, when the two sides clash at Marden Sports Complex.

The Blue Eagles side received some positive feedback from the referee from their match last weekend, regarding the way that the team showed respect to the match official, before, during and after the match. Credit must go to their coach Amadeo, who has introduced a strict policy of showing respect to match officials at all times. This team showed the kind of attitude that must be adopted by ALL clubs in regards to match officials.

In other Under 17 A matches, Campbelltown City Red Devils travel to the Paddocks to tackle Para Hills Knights, top of the table Western Strikers take on Modbury Jets at Jet Park, while Adelaide Comets will be searching for their first win of the season when they host Panthers at Ellis Park.

The highlight clash of the Under 16 competition sees top of the table Modbury take on home side Noarlunga United Bulldogs at Wilfred Taylor Reserve. Modbury come to Morphett Vale for this match on high goal scoring form after putting eight goals past Northern Demons last weekend. Noarlunga though will be trying to inflict Modbury’s first loss of the season.

Bottom of the table Comets will be looking for their first win of the competition when they travel to Clarence Gardens to take on Cumberland United at Bailey Reserve. This will not be an easy task for the Comets, as Cumberland United is currently second on the ladder and coming off some good results.

Other matches in the U16 Competition include Western Strikers at home to SASI Girls, Blue Eagles travel to Port Pirie to face Northern Demons and Campbelltown City and Playford City battle it out at Newton Sportsfield.

WT Birkalla Eagles continued their fantastic form in the U15 A Competition, with a 5-2 victory over Modbury last weekend to push them to the top of the ladder. This weekend they face the tough battle against Cumberland United in the derby at Camden Sports Complex, with neither side yet to lose a match this season.

Adelaide City will be hoping that both the above teams finish in a draw, if they can beat Adelaide Hills at Woodside, they will move to the top of the ladder.

MetroStars and Campbelltown City square off against eachother in a tough battle at TK Shutter Reserve. Croydon Kings travel to Morphett Vale to take on Noarlunga United at Wilfred Taylor Reserve, Playford City host Modbury at Ramsay Park, while Para Hills has the weekend off with the Bye.

Good article, but talks about the same teams as other weeks. God forbid they mention some games in the b's or c's which would be good games, or talk about the lower grades.

Don't be so surprised, there is not much to talk about your team. You do enough in your comments in your articles. You are the most one sided I have ever seen. There is not many good games in c's or b's. If there is good game it is up to you guys to bring it up. The people who write about A's dont have the time to watch b's or c's as they play at the same time. Which game would you rather watch? Adelaide City vs Campbeltown or Your team vs School team? What would you like to talk about the lower grades?
