Actually would be good to see another southern teamBillShankly wrote:unless they move someone like flinders uni up?
they have 3 senior teams...
maybe salisbury or a long shot in pink panthers..they both have junior sides
would definately benefit panthers as they would be able to hold onto their juniors.

SASI in prems?
Ball boy asked the question why not have the SASI team in the prems. Well I have been involved with another sport at the top level and I can tell you when you do things like this the competition loses and then the club loses.
Why?
Well you lose your best players to the SASI squad then depending on the coaches and or advise from within the SASI organisation you then lose your top players to the top clubs and or clubs reccommended by the people within the coaching and management staff. So then you as a club lose your top players to SASI for a year to two year period while they are on the way up and or then either never get them back or only if you are sitting high in the league.
My opinion and my opinion only. sounds good but in the end most clubs lose. Feel free to contact me off the list and I will tell you more if you like!

Gawler may have two teams this season but prems n ressies isnt an option for us. the div 1 side is made up of sum prems and ressies n the div 3 side is made up of sum of the juniors mums. our new coach for div 1 isnt ready to coach a prems side yet either. she would like to get sum experience behind her first. we are happy to rebuild our team in div 1 and hopefully one day we'll have 2 stronger teams to compete at prems level...

its all a bit of a shame really for gawler.. jus look at it last season... the reserves were hardly competitive .. no offence to anyone at gawler .. but they could have played in reserves this year again and build up once again and work wif the rest in the prems.. i believe you wouldnt have came bottom.. thats paras place lol soz russ.. u kno im messin wif ya ... cud be taken by leighs team this year lol.. messin wif u tooskeet wrote:wonder wat galwer would do now that 2 of there key players got an opportunity to play at adelaide city, and heard few others aren't going back! big big loss to galwer
now the situation is you have lost tracy and shannon both to adelaide city ... they are never going to come back unless gawler play prems again.. now they have lost 2 quality players... i think it would have paid for gawler to stay in the prems/ressies and keep these sorts of players... i highly doubt that flinders, panthers or salisbury are going to be much more competitive than gawler.. gawler does have a good base of players.. they just need a star player that can carry them to success !!
and yes state league may be the great chance to build up confidence etc. but i rkn ur gonna learn more playin prems/resises than you are ever going to learn playing in the division 1 or division 3 sides..
AND... gawler arent guaranteed a spot back in the premier league... theyre going to have to fight for it.. they cant just say i wanna be back in cuz there will be other clubs vying for this next year ...
i jus rkn it would have paid to wait a bit longer...
i dont mean to offend anyone or any person at the club im jus stating mu opinions on the matter.. thats all i can do.. maybe theres more stuff .. if so well then ill shut up lol..

Re: Gawler
I am afraid that if a team decides to drop to another division then they will always lose players. Players wish to play at the highest level that they can........Even if their ability does not match what they think they can do......
Probably Gawler should have stayed the course this year in Prems but I guess they have their reasons.....
P.S. thanks Matt for your thoughts on where we will finish this year.........you wally

Re: Gawler
because we have no official coach this year some of the other girls have stepped up and they aren't ready to coach a prems team
Re: Gawler
I do believe that Gawler didn't have a choice! There are simply not enough players to be competitive in prems and reserves. No coach doesn't help either! Two of our players have had to stand up and take on the role of coach as well as playing. My hat goes off to these 2 players who are only 23 and 18.Tottenham Hotspur wrote:I am afraid that if a team decides to drop to another division then they will always lose players. For the record Tracey and Shannon were PART of the decision to drop out of prems and reserves BEFORE they were offered greener pastures.
Whats the point of staying in prems to thrashed every week? Sure we have two teams but...
The group of girls playing in Div 1 are mix of prems players and ressies who are not yet ready to play in the top flight. Throw in an ex premier league keeper who needs to play on the pitch due to back problems and that does not make a premier league team! The Div 3 teams is made up of the mums of the junior players most of whom have never played before and the older players as in the 50+ age group.
If the decision had been to stay in premier league i think you would have simply seen another vale, and i can tell you its no fun going out to play every week to get thrashed, there would have been more players leaving because they weren't enjoying their soccer.

Tottenham Hotspur wrote:dusty wrote:I do believe that Gawler didn't have a choice!
