Yep if I was Portugese I'd trade a world cup for a euro cup any day!!

After all Greece won Euro 04 therefore it must be the most prestigious comp around and of course 04 differed from every other championship because it was the hardest ever and Greece had everything go against them.

Its simple Euro 04 - Greece winners = Best and hardest comp ever in the history of the WORLD

Here is another example for you Basketball normally a crap game. Greece has success mate its the best game in the world after football!!

Im not saying Italy are a shoe in to win the world cup im simply pointing out the stupidity of the candyman's post.

Im sure he will be going for Portugal and would almost wet his pants if Portugal beat Italy in the final because by this clowns logic it would mean Greece are actually the world champions and infinately better than Italy.

Lets face it Greece beat Portugal in the Euro 04 finals Portugal beat Italy and won the world cup so of course it makes perfect sense.

Reality is Greece are not in the best 32 teams in the world at the moment!

All im saying is,Portugal have a chance to win the World Cup,
if they win it,then losing Euro to Greece,would be a matter of the
Portugese saying"well who cares,we have the World Cup". But it wouldnt

No Technically they are NOT.

They failed to qualify for the world cup which means they are not even in the top 15 teams in Europe

Brazil won the last world cup and they were bundled out in the quarters which means at best they are the 5th best Team in the world.

Either way it's easy to see how people like you incite ill feelings towards Greeks.

Im aware you are a minority however and I was wrapped for my Greek friends when they won Euro and equally dissapointed for them when they failed to qualify for the world cup.

Greece's euro win was nothing short of exceptional, a true fairytale even if I did have to listen to them boast for a while!!

but the fact of the matter is Greece are european champions for 4 years and thats the way it stands. they are the best team in europe untill someone decides to take the championship off of them in 2008.

The World Cup is to determine who is the best team in the world
The Asian Cup is the determine who is the best team in Asia\Oceana
The CONCAF cup is to determine who is the best team in South America
and
The European Cup is to determine who is the best team in europe

Dont want to incite any more ramblings, but technically they are.

UEFA invites all nations within its confederation to qualify for the honour of european champion. They run this tournament to determine the premier team within their continent.
So you see, winner of this competition is deemed the best national team in europe. By theory of course.

However, by the same token...If Italy win the world cup expand the realms of what i said above from European to Worldwide.

Yes, the World Cup is organised by FIFA.
The European Cup is organised by UEFA.

Greece are champions of europe, Ita Por Fra would be world champions.

Its like in Boxing theres the WBA & WBC titles.
