Gattuso Out Of Both Arsenal Legs
AC Milan have received a huge blow after Gennaro Gattuso was ruled out for around 50 days with injury, meaning that he will miss both legs of the Champions League tie with Arsenal.
zoom - galleria Gattuso has picked up a serious muscle strain and has immediately been withdrawn from the Milan squad set to travel to Florence for this Sunday’s crucial trip to Fiorentina.
The 30-year-old hardman had struggled at times this season for form, but it seemed as though he was returning to something near his very best after an improved performance against Genoa last weekend, and a rampaging display in the midweek win at Reggina.
Gattuso will also miss the Serie A matches with Siena, Parma, Livorno, Palermo, Catania, Lazio and Empoli.
If estimates are correct he should return in time for the week 28 trip to the Stadio Olimpico to face Roma.
Most worrying for Milan will be his absence from the Champions League knockout tie with Arsenal. The first leg in London is on February 20, with the return on March 4.
Gattuso will also naturally be ruled out of Italy’s international friendly with Portugal in Zurich next week.
The ex-Rangers man is a notoriously fast healer and Milan fans will be hoping for a miraculous recovery in time for the super-clash with Arsenal.

He may be back for the second leg -
Gattuso out for three weeks
Gennaro Gattuso’s thigh strain will only keep him out for three weeks rather than the feared two months.
It had originally been reported the Milan midfielder would be out of action for at least 50 days after he limped off against Reggina on Wednesday evening.
Today the Rossoneri conducted further tests and announced that Gattuso could return in around three weeks.
He has suffered a strain to the femoral bicep in his right leg.
This means the World Cup winner will miss out on Sunday’s trip to Fiorentina, the first leg of the Champions League clash with Arsenal on February 20 and Italy’s friendly against Portugal.
There is also the real risk Gattuso will not be able to recover in time for the second leg against the Gunners on March 4 at San Siro.

Hopefully Pato & Kaka' play at their best and fly high like the eagle. I hope to see a Pirlo special and a world class goal poacher like Inzaghi score like he did against Liverpool & Boca Juniors.Rigoni 10 wrote:there will be no stopping Cesc and Flamini now.Milanista #22 wrote:I guess we are using old man Emerson now
