Well Nova in reply i did state that "it wont do much" but if all the opposing futsal organisations are stating that there organisation is better than the others they must have all good players. I want to play against quality opposition so why not play against eachother. It seems that everyone talks but theres no action so thats why i proposed this not against the two but also any other organisations or centres. Its people like u who like bagging people and other organisations that are ruining the sport. Each organisations may have there good and bad points but its sad that politics and peoples egos get in the way for growing the sport in this state. So what if there are two, or three or more organisations let them all do what they want but ultimately it would be nice for all of them to come together and enhance this fantastic game, but sadly i dont think that will happen soon and for now the public have a number of organisations or clubs they can chose from to play futsal. Its up to the FFA to sort this problem out to bring them together or affiliate them.Nova wrote:Sick of the crap but you want a game between the two, to prove what :?udinese76 wrote:All this bickering of, futsal this and were better than u is a load of bollocks.
I have a propasition for all you out there lets play a series of games were the open mens teams from, futsal SA, stingrays and who ever, play against eachother. It wont do much but hey i want to play some good opponents because i have played against some quality teams here and interstate, so lets settle this by playing on the futsal court and not on forums!
Cmon i am game is anyone else?

Re: National Titles
Viking wrote:Wow guys, After reading all your posts, it sounds like you and your children should be playing in a Vikings Futsal comp all year round, like a lot of the players that played at the Nationals do.
I had the opportunity at the Nationals to assist Ewerton a full time professional coach flown in from Brazil by Vikings Futsal, who was the head coach of the Open Men's and Women's QLD teams.
What an experience, the Men's team lost to Solomon Islands (great outfit unlucky not to have been in the final) in the quarters 3-2 only after we missed a few sitters.
The women's team went all the way to the final against NSW and it was 2-2 after extra time and unfortunately we lost 7-8 on penalties.
Watching Ewerton coach with true Brazilian flair was amazing and this is the type of coaching SA needs all year round to be competitive at the Nationals next year.
The Vikings have a full time Brazilian coach Gui Costa based in QLD and also former professional Brazilian player Fernando from VIC. who played in the A League at our disposal.
A few of you mentioned in your posts that you want quality coaches who have played professionally and know all the formations backwards. Vikings Futsal can provide that if you want.
One of the saddest things I saw at the Nationals was a young SA girl who won the MVP for the U14's and she will now back to outdoor and do nothing with her great Futsal talent locally or internationally.
The QLD team won the the U14's Girls, so can you imaging half that team plus a few SA, NSW, ACT and VIC girls mixed in, what a team that would be to take Internationally to better them selves.
Vikings Futsal is not affiliated with the SA Federation or Adelaide Stingrays, as there is no career paths for the players after the Nationals or locally organised VIC. games.
At the Vikings there are many career paths for players all year round from School titles, Regional's titles, Nationals, Men's and Women's National League and Internationals teams.
So if you want to play Futsal the Brazilian way all year round, are not interested in politics and want a career path please contact me on the details below. Yours in Sport Tom
Another promotion???
I'm sorry, where was the congratulations for the boys and girls that went over to play in the Futsal Nationals?

I'm a little surprised by your remarks when your past remarks on this site seem a little more informed or thoughtful.
We could congratulate the fact that,
1. there were a lot of new players at this level of competition,
2. in general, we were quite competitive against 'full time' states,
3. a couple of age groups actually made the quarter finals against these 'full time' states,
4. the players that went, got chance to gain experience by playing at a higher level.
And for the record, the U16's actually made the SEMI FINAL.
You're the KNOB and an ignorant one at that - get your facts straight next time.

ahaha ok 1 team made the semis. now tell me how many teams finished 4th in groups of 5 or 6 that made the quaters. If you think this is good enough then you have no clue. From the last 4 years how have SA progressed. I only remember 1 team making the final was the u/16 team 3 yrs ago i think and they lost the final 7-0. From the 3 years i was involved and this year that just passed i dont think SA have progressed at all.

ahaha indeed. So you were wrong that you no team made it past the quarter finals. And look, that means there is something to congratulate, so you were wrong twice in the same post.
So you were involved for a few years (congratulations by the way), why aren't you involved now. If you're a player, either you're too old or was dropped. If a Coach or Team Manager, the same. So you have a grudge.
I don't know off hand how many teams made quarters but if you like I can investigate. Again though, this is off topic. I agree that it would be great to have more teams make semi's and beyond but as I stated (and even you'd have to agree), we're a 'part time' state at this stage with our sport.
You have issues m8y. Help with the experience youv'e gained from 3 years at Nationals or get over it.
At any rate, the reasons I stated above are valid for congratulations. Any comment to the contrary is only argumentative. But thanks for your input.

Hi Squizzy
Just out of curiosity are you a player or a coach with the Federation?
I was congratulation the young SA girl who won the MVP, sorry I didn't use the word congratulations.
The Federation have been part timers as long as I can remember and still are. So we need to do something different in SA or we will still keep getting the same results as we have.
Instead of bagging each other, lets do something positive for the players in SA who want to play Futsal all year round and maybe one day the they will represent Australia.

G'day Tom,
I'm too old to be a player m8y, so I help out with Coaching.
I apologise for my mis-understanding but in context with your original post, it seemed a lot more like promotion to me.
I agree totally with the comments you've made highlighted above. I stated this in other posts also. My mail has it that people in power at the FFA has Futsal high on their agenda, going forward. Hopefully it's not just for the eastern states.

LOL @ being dropped. Was too old champ. If the right coaches are in place the teams will do alot better and not just the players playing at Campbelltown Leisure Centre are looked at. These coaches need to get out to the other venues have a look around and pick the best possible players. I hear they are thinking of taking an open mens team next year. So hopefully they will find a good coach because most of those players play at a high level and i'll definately be interested

Couldn't agree more. I can't speak for all the teams but I know the U14, U15, and U16 boys teams scouted more than the Campbelltown Liesure Centre. Hopefully this has set a precedent because as I think you were alluding to, there is talent at other venues also.
There is strong arguements for sending an Open Mens side next year and I hope they do, so that we can compete at all levels. There's plenty of other people that are for too. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Only thing is if they want an open mens team they should be picking players now, training and playing in these competitions. Theres no point getting an open team together for a month after the soccer season has finished and expect them to be competitive cause they will get spanked over there.Squizzy wrote:Juventus FC wrote:LOL @ being dropped. Just to let you guys these "full time" states aren't too different from ours. ACT only have 12 game seasons in most age groups and their open mens team that won the title only began training in mid december. NSW play 14 game seasons and selected their teams in mid November. Once their outdoor seasons start futsal goes into hibernation for 8 months.

That's what most of the Coaches from this last trip has said (highlighted above) and I strongly agree with this. I'm pretty sure that there's a Coaches meeting very shortly - hopefully something can be sorted out.
Good suggestion from Glebe - why not use what they learnt from being over there?

I had toyed with the idea of becoming a Futsal coach, but your comment makes me to find out more with extreme caution.
hi drusetta my delay on the matter is because i was away, the reason why i think it is crap not so much of the skills involed but the way it is run through the administration. they have a final play off for the top 4 or 5,and a bottom playoff.is this designed for revenue or for the good of the game. take a good look at futsal around the world the way it is run,and the way it is played its played like a propper competion like the leaque season,i think a seven a side comp played would be better, only my opinion
Nationals
I agree the men's team would need to be coached during the year so they know each other by the time the nationals come up. A suggestion if I may is to train the team once a week in-between their out door commitments to keep their basic Futsal skill up and teach them playing systems like 5 player instead of a GK, this was used at the nationals to very good effect by QLD and you need to know the system so you can play it and defend against it.
Re the coaches with family members in their teams, that has been going on for a while and it is a NO family members approach in most other states hence maybe their success.

Spiro has worked hard scouting players and growing the competitions. Everyone forgets that he does this fulltime and is not half hearted. This is his income as well as his life. Futsal has to be run as a fulltime job and it entails working during the day as well as late nights, to make sure the competitions run smoothly. He tries to give the kids as much as he can so they can grow and be our future futsal players. Only he can make this happen. My son has been coached by spiro for over a year now continually 2 - 4 times per week, and there is a fantastic improvement. Spiro has great support of people who work with him and other parents give him credit for their kids skills. Stingrays have many locations.

Hey Udinese,
It sounds like you have played futsal at the highest level what venue do you play? Would love to come and watch your team. Which competitions do you play in?
We are interested in putting in a team. We live in the Eastern area, we have heard about Walkerville competition run by Stingrays, is this were your team plays? Let us know and we will be putting in a team. We used to play at St Bernards but referees but competition is very weak. We have been to Magil nothing special all hot heads, pre madonnas, we dont know much about Stingrays but have heard they are good and run all year round. You can get back to me via private message if you wish Udinese.
