Burnley Bid For Whelan Rejected ...

Sheffield Wednesday have turned down a bid from Burnley for midfielder Glenn Whelan.

The Owls rejected a bid from Plymouth Argyle for the services of the 23-year-old Irishman earlier in the week and a similar response was forthcoming regarding the move from the Lancashire club.

Manager, Brian Laws, said: "I can confirm that we have received a bid from Burnley for Glenn Whelan but it is certainly not an offer that interests us at this time and we have turned it down accordingly."

if Whelan goes on the cheap the owls will be favorites for relegation!
