Elano Is Mancini’s First Choice – Report

Post by adriano10 »

Manchester City star Elano is the primary transfer target of Inter Milan Coach Roberto Mancini, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport

The Nerazzurri are virtually certain to purchase a midfielder during the January transfer window as they are currently in the midst of an injury crisis.

Olivier Dacourt will probably be ruled out for the rest of the season, Dejan Stankovic may require an operation, Patrick Vieira has barely featured due to constant fitness problems, while Luis Figo is recovering from a broken leg.

Despite this long list of sidelined players, the Nerazzurri have coped admirably and go into the winter break seven points clear at the top of Serie A.

Nevertheless the ‘Gazzetta’ claims that Brazilian star Elano is on their shopping list in January.

The 26-year-old only signed for Man City in the summer from Shakhtar Donetsk, however he has been a revelation, and has been the crucial factor in The Blues fine start to the Premiership season.

The playmaker is a free-kick specialist, possesses excellent technical ability, while he can also fill in on either the right or left of midfield if required.

It remains to be seen whether City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson would be prepared to sell his star man, although given his excellent relationship with Mancini, anything is possible.

Unlikely, but Inter's billionaire owner has more money than Man City's billionaire owner, which is what it seems to be coming down to these days...

Sure Elano is a great player, but seriously enough of just Argies and Brasilians, bring in some Italian players

You know, every one talks about Inter and Arsen-hole fielding a full team of foreigners..

Now i might be wrong but has anyone posted about the fact that these teams play a particular style/brand of football that which not too many Italians/English fit in to??

Dont get me wrong - players like Pirlo, De Rossi, Totti, Gattuso would fit into the Inter Milan team - but theres no way their clubs are going to sell them - so you look at the next available option.

Inter to keep on winning titles and playing like they are for many years to come?? Hell bring in players from Mozambique for all i care - just keep winning!!!!
