January Transfer Season
It's that time of year we all enjoy to laugh at all the bullshit gossip that is going around the media. This is the thread for all the latest gossip and transfer news.
The Goose Is Better Than Turkey Gossip
NEW VILLA FOR SPURS OR CHELSKI
The headline news of the day is that Valencia striker David Villa is being linked with a move to Chelski or Tottenham after, in the words of The Daily Mirror, 'deciding to quit Spain'.
The paper says that 'Spanish international Villa is unhappy at Valencia after a dressing room revolt against boss Ronald Koeman' and quotes him saying: "It is impossible for me to carry on."
Villa has been previously linked with Chelski - especially during the tenure of Jose Mourinho - and would cost in the region of £20m.
JOL REJECTS FULHAM
The Times says that Martin Jol has rejected the chance to become the new manager of Fulham. Why? Because he reckons the mission of keeping the Cottagers would be impossible.
'Jol was initially attracted because of the club's proximity to his home in Essex, but it is believed that he felt that the squad may not be strong enough to avoid relegation from the Barclays Premier League this season,' it reports. 'They are one place above the relegation zone, with only two league wins. Some Fulham officials also had reservations about the Dutchman.'
Intriguingly, the paper adds that 'Jol is holding out for an opportunity to take charge of one of the big clubs below the recognised top four, such as Newcastle United, where speculation persists about Sam Allardyce.'
OLEG HASN'T SEEN SHEVA PLAY IN A LONG TIME
Former Ukraine boss Oleg Blokhin has (apparently) proved he is bonkers by attempting to sign Andriy Shevchenko. Because, erm, he's quick.
'The former Ukrainian coach is now in charge at FC Moscow. And he wants Sheva, despite the £30million striker scoring just six Premier League goals in 18 months at Stamford Bridge,' says The Sun.
Blokhin is quoted as saying:
"We need at least one pacy forward. I'd love to see Andriy Shevchenko here."
Those two sentences don't go together, do they?
BRUM WILL SPEND
Birmingham co-owner David Sullivan has reiterated that new boss Alex McLeish will have money to spend in the January transfer market.
The Scot has said he wants to sign four new players and, bang on cue, Sullivan has declared: "I am excited by the prospect of us probably bringing in three or four players who could make the difference."
SPURS SIGN CARDIFF LAD
In case you missed the news on Christmas Eve...Tottenham have confirmed they will complete the signing of Wales defender Chris Gunter from Cardiff when the transfer window opens in January.
The 18-year-old full-back has made 33 first-team appearances and won three Wales caps since breaking into the Bluebirds first team in August last year.
The two clubs reached agreement over what is reported to be a £2million deal last week and the player underwent a medical over the weekend.

IF Liverpool have money, they will buy a back up defender and a winger... Mascherano will wait until July for his permanent move.
2m pounds for Ujfalusi (Fiorentina, Czech International) and 4m pounds for Kaladze (AC Milan, Georgian International) are the favourites.
Quaresma as per usual is linked with both Liverpool and Chelski, huge money neeed. Cheaper and more likely alterantive, is Valencia left wigner and Spanish internatioanl David Silva... classy winger excellent delivery.
All the rests on the fact if Rafa can jag mroe cash. Expect Sissoko to leave, Fiorentina very keen...

Can't see why they would be though. They have Liverani, Donadel, Montolivo (although a dif player, he still opccupies a spot in the defensive midfield line), Pazienza, Gobbi and Kusmanovic. They have enough players for that role.LFTWNG11 wrote:IF Liverpool have money, they will buy a back up defender and a winger... Mascherano will wait until July for his permanent move.

Van Der Vaart has come out and said he wants to join Juve. Whether or not it happens is a different matter, but we do need a replacement for Nedved.manU4life wrote:nooo binnnnnnnnngggggoooooo...united are chasing him hard. van der varrt is a gun!! whoever gets him will be very luckyMilanista #22 wrote:It's time for the Rossoneri to offload their over 30 players which include:

Van Der Vaart would make a great successor for Seedorf, Galliani has to keep the Dutch revolution alive, Galliani & Berlusconi better make a mega offer for the flying dutchmenJuventino wrote:Van Der Vaart has come out and said he wants to join Juve. After another defeat away from home to Leicester, Ipswich Town boss Magilton requires some composure and is looking to strengthen his attack if they are to remain in the play off positions come end of season.
One player he is lookin at is exciting Owls striker Burton.
With his pace and strength on the ball he shows true presence said the Ipswich Town Manager.

our targets this time around include
Ezequiel GARAY, from Racing, great young defender.
Miguel VELOSO, from Sporting, class DM that we have in line to replace Diarra.
DIEGO, from Bremen, been after this man for a while now - on his good days he's as good as Kaka. + Bremen will let him leave for us.
DE ROSSI, from Roma, as a backup if Veloso is a no-go
Mikel ARTETA, from Everton, we've contacted his agent and an offer will be made at the end of this season.
I'd say that's the strongest out of the bunch atm, although everyday there's another 3 players we're reportedly 'interested in' or 'want to buy' but you know which one's are legit or not......
I know for a fact though, that Veloso will be hot propert as will Diego. The latter wants to join us whereas the former is welcoming any offers from the big clubs.

There's a shock Real looking to spend in the transfer marketHala Madrid wrote:our targets this time around include

How arrogant do you have to be to make a statement like De Rossi as a back up?
I don't like lies. I have understood your market where sometimes lies sell more than truth. This is your life and I don't like it. I understand your work and I have to work with you, but the protection of my group is much more important than you

you are away with the pixies my friend.
De Rossi is a proven player and world cup winner - he will captain roma when totti gives it away so I doubt real will get him.
