It's a hard choice for me. My main international rivals are the frogs BUT if the jocks qualify and we don't they'll actually think they're better than us AND will possibly even overtake us on the rankings.IpswichTown1878 wrote:Hawkesy i actually want The Scots to win would rather them than the Frogs. If you put it like that you have a point, BUT when qualified the Scots will probably do shit so that would be good to see. While Frogs although i hate to say it IF they qualify have the ability to win itHawkesy wrote:It's a hard choice for me. Don't under estimate the Scot's. We have beaten both Italy and France in this campaign, and we are only 3 rankings from the Pome's.
We do deserve to go through, but known Scotland's luck we will probably fail at the last hurdle,,,,but I hope not !
Sure about that one?yogi wrote:You two guys are funny............

From a nuetral point of view, this seems to be a cracker contest. I saw the Scots LIVE on TV against the Ukranians 2 games ago when they played in Scotland and i dont think ive ever seen a side (Scotland) come out of the tunnel to a more parochial and ear deafening roar, it was amazing and actually gave me a shiver down my spine. I wasnt supporting anyone and i was scared and thats exactly what happened to the Ukranians, they shiiiiit themselves in that first 30 minutes before settling for the last 15 of the first half. The Italians will also shiiit themselves in the beginning but they will probably settle alot quicker than the Ukranians did. Scotland must score early in the first period to keep their supporters vocal and keep the Italians on edge.
Italy has a funny way of defending effectively for 3/4s of a game and catching you on the counter but the Scottish defence is physical and the Italians will be surprised to see that the Scots can actually push the ball around well and create from the back so an interesting encounter for me.
Scotland can also score right at the death of a game and the Italians will be weary of that but it all comes down to how hungry these Scots are to qualify. They have what it takes and they have the all important 12th man by way of the home support.
MY TIP??? Well, if Scotland score first they will win, otherwise it will be a draw and Italy will qualify with the Scots having to wait for a favour from Ukraine whom i cant see beating France!!!
Good luck to all Scottish and Italian supporters, this along with the Norway v Turkey game will have the most interest of all the remaining games left for EURO 08

Well put Colossus. I agree we need to score early and don't give the Italians any room to play / pass the ball around.COLOSSUS wrote:From a nuetral point of view, this seems to be a cracker contest. I know Web, it was a bait to see who would pick it up, but anyway, well spotted pal.web wrote:Hmm we havent beat Italy in this campaign Yogi.

By the way, it was in 1967 that we beat the mighty Azzuri 1-0.
In Italy, the number 17 is considered unlucky. Some Alitalia planes have no row 17, some Italian hotels have no room 17 and in Roman numerals XVII is an anagram of VIXI which translates into "I have lived" with the implication "my life is over" or "I am dead".
Italy play Scotland in a crucial Euro 2008 qualifier at Hampden Park on Saturday, 17 November with kick-off at 1700 GMT - for the record, Italy have won four of their 11 matches played on the 17th of a month in the last 30 years
