there is ZERO chance that Man U, Chelsea of Liverpool will sell us a player, unless they are finished! Name any other english players not at these clubs that could get a game!Rigoni 10 wrote:i'd only have richards, gerrard, terry, rooney, scholesMUFCBOY wrote:gerrard, terry, lampard, rooney, scholes, richards, riopires7 wrote:and i'm only talking englishmenMUFCBOY wrote:i could think of atleast 5pires7 wrote:the side is pretty much balanced! Outide of this cant think of too many players in the league good enough to make our side!
gerrard, rooney, ronaldo, terry, cech, drogba.... thats 6, ill stop there
Richards is one for the future but is cleary overated at the moment! Why in the world should we pay 20million for him when Toure and Gallas are better, more experienced players! and he wouldn't start in our back four anyways! He was found out big time v Chelsea, Drogba gave him a bath!

In 'nam, VC side P. Sông Lam Nghệ An FC had trouble with this, as rival club Lam Nhe Song P Lam Cream O Sum Yung Gai had a few imported players. The trouble was that P.Song didnt have the physical attributes as the other team and werent as techinically gifted, luckily, I had rambo go in there and clean the place out.
Point is, imported players make the league better. Not local players.

i do agree that arsenal should have more english players in the squad, but do not agree that they should be forced to pay stupid money just for the sake of having them at the club.
however, i also do not care if english national team continue to fail

I haven't metioned to $$$ value of players as many are over priced and they need to be value for money after all.
I use the English team as an example, I also like seeing them acheive nothing. Italy as WC champs are the exception, but England and Spain under acheive due to the current rules. Inter is doing itself no favours as they could play a big part in developing the next crop of Azzurri stars.
Most smaller nations benefit as they have more players oversea's, but the best will always go. What benefit is it if most of our players ( Australia ) play championship football, it could be argued that the A League would be better there for the local leagues would be better. Better product and possible more sponsorship $$$$

I want, what they want, and every other foreigner who came over here to England and spilled his guts and gave everything he had, wants! For this country to love us as much as we love it! That's what I want!BAGGIO 15 wrote:Betterfor who?Colonel Trautman wrote:In 'nam, VC side P. Baggio> there in lies a problem for young Australian players. If the European clubs are forced to use a % of local players, that in turn will mean imported players won't be used by them. Hence they, the imported, will be forced to stay and play in their own back yard, which is good for us supporters. There is no doubt that the A League this year is missing out on seeing the talents of the likes of David Carney etc etc.
Would Nathan Burns be better off playing in a lesser league in Europe than staying here in the A League, playing regularly in the ACL plus possibly with Australia qualifying for the world cup every 4 years, I know what the answer would be.
This is a decision in the best interests of the sport, definately not in the best interests of the major clubs around the world.
It would be interesting to see the stats on the number of imports [as a % factor] in all of the major leagues around the world then compare them to the J league, K League, A league etc etc

If this rule came in he wouldn't get into a lesser league in Europe as their best would be playing domesticly. If he did it would be good for him, but the A league and all ACL clubs would be even stronger.neworder wrote:Baggio> there in lies a problem for young Australian players. As for what I highlighted in red I agree.
He'd probably get a game at Fisher Athletic, so could play a similar standard but get more money.BAGGIO 15 wrote:If this rule came in he wouldn't get into a lesser league in Europe as their best would be playing domesticly. At the end of the say, Six Alex is a great manager but a knob at the same time!
there are 203 english players in the squads the 20 clubs this year!
so they are being given the chance to develop against the best players in the world! Fuck Australia barely has 200 professional players!
Blackburn with the least of 5
Arsenal 6
Man City 7
Bolton 7

only 1 (walcott) of those has really been given the chance to develop against the best players in the world.pires7 wrote:At the end of the say, Six Alex is a great manager but a knob at the same time!

do you believe he is improving most from the 15 minute bursts he has been given to ease his way to first team football, or the training sessions with the squad? I'd like to think that some credit to training development is given?cantona_united wrote:only 1 (walcott) of those has really been given the chance to develop against the best players in the world.pires7 wrote:At the end of the say, Six Alex is a great manager but a knob at the same time!

It's a broken record now for the gunners, we have a new youth system and should begin to reap the home grown rewards in the next few years!
