Ronaldinho was sent off just after he scored. Can't remember what he did, but it may have been a straight red (someone correct me if I am wrong).Hawkesy wrote:I didn't mention it because to be honest I have no recollection of the sending off. Who? and for what?Juventino wrote:98 was a second round loss.
And if you are to mention English red cards as a disadvantage, yet not mention you had a man advantage for over 30 mins vs Brazil in 02?
But in any case, it is not as if 10 men cannot win and it seems like you are blaming those losses on having 10 men.
also not saying that 10 men cannot win but it's certainly a disadvantage.
Wenger quipped: "For the rest, I am ready to take the blame for all the problems of English football."
The Arsenal manager, though, sees no reason for the current regulations to be altered.
"I always felt that sport rewards quality and does not hide behind artificial rules," he said.
"You can say as well to compete with the best players in the world is a chance to improve your level.
"In Europe, we are very rigid and difficult to move forwards because we are all countries and are a bit conservative."
Wenger insisted the influx of foreigners into the Premier League was merely a reflection of the modern world at large.
He reflected: "If you organise a golf tournament, people go to watch Tiger Woods, whether that is in Scotland or anywhere else.
"When you go to Wimbledon, you want to see Federer. That is what people demand today.
"The world has moved on. People demand to see the best in the world and you cannot get them to watch a level down anymore.
"The real question is how can England take the opportunity to produce world-class players?
So if fergusen, jose were coaching all these english players, maybe they are to blame for the state of the national team! Wasn't he behind the desicion to stop paul scholes from playing for england??

spudkid, obviously you don't understand what top managers do especially cause your club hasn't had one.Berbatov wrote:STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT ENGLISH PLAYERS BEING TOO EXPENSIVE, YOUVE GOT THE MONEY NOW, SO LETS SEE WTF arseNE WILL DO
Arsene will not throw money around for no reason like many other clubs do, he'll buy the players that he feels he needs. At the moment i can't really think of a position where we really need to strengthen our team. maybe another striker but i don't really feel confident in saying that.

If FIFA passes the law, then teams will have to manage a team of local as well as foeirn players.
So asssssnal is stuffed!
Also, When has assssssnal last won the UCL??????
And ur comment about mediocre players winning world cups??? I though we are talking about Claub teams!!!!!
World Cup winners like Gilberto, Henry, Vieira, Petit etc that played for us.
that's what he is saying, players like that won't be able to play in the top leagues cause of the new law.
the mediocre players he is talking about are the English ones that will be protected by the law

Your joking. of coarse they will play in the top leagues as only the best will be brought in. In the 80's there were 3 non domestic players on the pitch for one side at anyone time. That would mean the best will always move to the best leagues, just not every man and his dog like it is at the moment.
Would it be good if AU was full of non Australians and Burns was coming off the bench ala Walcott. I would be to happy. Same thing.

of course the big players will play in the top leagues, they wouldn't play in lower class leagues. Inter would have been stuffed in the 1980'sBAGGIO 15 wrote:Milanista #22 wrote:i agree with rigoni on that oneRigoni 10 wrote:Arsenal have been the 2nd most successful team in the Premiership since 1992 thanks to quality bought in by Mr. Wenger.diegom wrote:A Champion team will ALWAYS beat a team of Champions!

3 leagues wont own all of football

It will effect Brazil as instead of 10 000 players playing abroad only 5000 would
They are the country benefitting the most as they are improving their depth and taking money from all over the world back to Brazil.

We did fine, only started having problems when Moggi came aroundMilanista #22 wrote:Inter would have been stuffed in the 1980's
Whole foreigner debate is getting boring, If Inter & Arsenal are the only two teams that are doing it then I suggest more teams try it as both seem to have the points on the board.
Baggio you mention Burns playing on the bench for AU if we had an influx of foreigners, if playing more foreigners meant a player like Burns sits on the bench I'd be happy as it meant the standard here is getting better.
Most of you also fail to realise the affect this role will have on our Socceroos. Considering 98% of our World Cup squad is made up of Australians that learn their trade overseas I would hate to think what our national team will be like 10 years after such a rule is passed.
And Diego why would you care what happens to the English national team anyway with your pro-Italian signature? You must be a confused sod? However I don't blame you, your a victim of the media which forces you to watch the EPL
I don't like lies. I have understood your market where sometimes lies sell more than truth. This is your life and I don't like it. I understand your work and I have to work with you, but the protection of my group is much more important than you

Thats a valid point, that could go either way. Hasn't hurt many countries, but the same could be said for all the non football powers. It will force development to be taken more serious and more coaches will travcel abroud to share knowledge. I see the 3 non domestic players on the pitch at one time a s a positive.

we just got the money now but we never have had that. Now that we have it we don't need to use it cause we don't need to spend it unnceccessarily. the side is pretty much balanced! Business is still business, we dont want to buy a player for 10million to warm the bench! Any player we could buy this year won't get a game unless we bought them from another big 4 club!
Outide of this cant think of too many players in the league good enough to make our side!

why spend 20 mill on a player like carrick.....he is not world class...cant even get into the england midfield!
all fun and games lads....every1 has their own thoughts on the matter...
i believe in free markets in any type of business...so each team should be able to sign who they want...
the cheap imports are just a temp solution...arsenal will have english players back when they are good enough to come through the ranks..
players that have gone on to do well, sidwell, bentley, pennant....imo are not world class....and dont suit the arsenal way of play, but the current arsenal way of play is being trained into the juniors now, and in 5 or so years you will see young english being able to come into the team and play the system that is wanted....unless the manager changes, but im guessing/hoping whoever takes over from wenger 1 day will be chosen on the same footballing principles..
as for a.cole = we all know what an arsehole he is!
