Hmmmm

Depends if there will be 2 or more teams to make up for the lack of NSW and Qld teams.

My guess....All of SASI plus the usual suspects.

Luv Ya Shorty

Sometimes the bleedin obvious is just that........Bleedin Obvious. Unfortuntaley, selection trials are viewed by us outsiders as "going thru the motions" to give those on the outer some false hope! (interested to read if there is an opposing view)

If SA wants to become a seriously considererd and valued member of the Women's soccer scene in Australia they need to become far more proactive in selection to ensure that trial do not become predictable and are equitable and given everyone a chance.

Shorty. from what I have read, you're pretty passionate about the game and would like another crack at sasi. Hell knows you deserve the opportunity.

one day at a time... sad gal!! 8)

the problem with the trials is that the sasi girls get chosen from the years training, yet everyone else who trials get evaluated from their two trails they attend...
it doesnt bother me but im sure u feel the same sad gal... people shouldnt get selected on who they are or who they play for they should get selected on the trials they attend...

Here I go again :) Another benefit of the 6 team Super League, 100 of the best in action every week and if those quality players from the other teams get an opportunity to guest a few times at the 6 Super League Clubs, then there will be 3 "trial" games every week, for selectors to look at, and also they can have a look at players from other teams on a regular basis and nominate players to guest at the 6 super league teams. 2 a week for each team. with free interchange. Get to see a lot of girls in action this way. Top competition for many girls to show what they have got. :)

well thought out beaches. Unfortunately your idea sounds too logical and might just be what is needed to truly give EVERYONE playing the game a fair look in. selction is far too lopsided (am I the only one who can see this). Its BLOOMIN logical. This is how scouts go out and find new players! A neutral (is that possible?) coach with no affiliations can make this work.

Your suggestion will mean that some people will need to go out on the weekends and see all games and see players in their week to week environment and then at year's end make an assessment and maybe invite them out for a formal trial (which is not the be all and end all). Just part of the overall process. A trial (for non-SASI) people menas that they go out and get placed into a premdominantly SASI squad which will NOT favour that "foreign" player. why? they will not get a fair crack in a trial match and will not be "played in" during the trial and hence they will be deemed as not "ready". I've seen it myself and its human nature that when a group has "new" players thrust into it, they will tend to isolate that person!

Its to logical. It will work. Which means it won't happen.

Adelaide Sensation is a squad which will hopefully boast the best players in the state.

SASI is a program to help further develop the best players in the state to hopefully represent their country.

Obviously there are some players who are older and don't play in SASI but they have a chance to trial, and it is their perogative as to whether or not they do.

Where are u going sad girl wanting different trials for different people. If those girls who want to be apart of the sensation team can't show their capabilities in the trials in which there is a combination of both SASI and non SASI players then STANDARD they are not good enuf! If anything they are around better players than normal club level and hence will have better distribution, options, communication etc. So if they can't perform -ciao!

Everyone at the trials WAS given a 'fair crack', the obvious shorty stated such as slater began trials on the bench as did i so the rest played, there was no bias. + selection is not based on one person's opinion. there were many coaches out to the trials and each one will have their say. no doubt between them all they will have known non sasi players capabilities from their yrs of training and would consider that also to a certain degree.

to summarise, stop dissing the selection process and if your good enough then they can't not pick you if you perform during trials.

Beaches idea has merit

The current process is far too one dimensional and is therefore flawed. Seeing players week in week out is a far more fairer system IF what you are trying to find are the best players.

If you are on the outside looking in you will see it is probably not the best.

No one herein is dissing anything or anyone. Be objective and look at it in a mature way. Yes a few people have benefited from the current system however the system should aim to be good for women's soccer.

Don't think there will ever b a fair enuf system for EVERYONE! unless somehow there are random selectors who have no ties to anyone or any club and go by only what they see either at trials or club matchs thruout the yr! just my thoughts..

I did not see the trials but i just wanna put this all into perspective for everyone. Ok so the trials were run as usual (fair or unfair) players were selected ( all sasi + slater) now if this was a national camp or even club trials dont you think it would be selected the same way. You could go to any team in the premier league (unless they were struggling for players) and I bet you they would select the players they know can do the job before looking at outsiders. AND the same happens for national teams and the same happens overseas. IT EVEN HAPPENS AT WORK!

It is hard to break into an elite mould but hard work and persistance until they cant turn you down!! PROVEN to work!!

good day to all :)
