Last year's coach left us during pre-season earlier this year.

Well why waste your time posting?
Anyways I know the club is talking to 2-3 prospective coaches at the moment. It's just many other issues such as 7-a-side, a possible Christopher Pyne visit, retiring committee members and becoming incorporated in order to access grants which are happening concurrently which is slowing the process down.

The whole Nick James thing was discussed at length at the start of the season. John Edwards was under consideration for the role when he informed us he had agreed to join EA Patriots.

Club Legend are you serious ??? You would need to be at a club a little bit longer than John has & not leave? to be even spoken about being a Club Legend ???Mr X wrote:Why didnt Athelstone Club Legend - John Edwards get the gig, - why did Nick James leave? and did Nick take players with him?
Your criteria of a Club Legend must be a little easier than mine Mr X.
Nothing against John good bloke
I think the term "legend" may be from the fact in our clubs forum he has that title (for over 500 posts)

He isn't a life member... hasn't been at the club long enough... I don't know if he fits the criteria for club legend either, i think it involves drinking a lot more alcohol than he did...

Nugget - wasnt serious with the legend comment - he aint no Barry Cook or Mal Thomas or Matthew Tape thats for sure - although this little red headed B grade player from Athelstone was telling me that John Edwards made them a competitive outfit this year and without him they would have been relegation candidates,nugget66 wrote:Club Legend are you serious ??? wasnt sure how many Athelstone players had won league best and fairests?
Wasnt John edwards a Parafield boy at one stage?
He was at Parafielg Gardens between stints at Athelstone... dunno how many league B&F's we've had although John won this year and Paul Berrisford won the div 5 one last year for us.
Doesn't sound like something that little red headed B grade player would say though ;)
