yeh i think they'd finish 5th and 6th respectively. They would knock on the door for UCL births. They'd be better or as good as teams like Newcastle, Man city, Pompey etc.IpswichTown1878 wrote:seeing Rangers and Celtics good performances in Europe, it makes me wonder, how well would they do in the Premier League. I reckon they would finish around 6th or 7th

Well at least I was watching the game and not Everton v Liverpool like you stated you were in another post!
Did you know the game was on?
Better team won, although Jarosik should have made it 1-1 just after halftime then its a different game - more interesting this year which can only be a good thing

I agree but lets look at the bigger picture - start with the South Australian Super Duper League - that's a one horse race with Adelaide City so far ahead it's not funny.cheesecake shop 2 wrote:Looks like the season is over in the SPL, with only two teams in the league and Rangers winning 3-0. Why bother with this league when there is only two teams. Why dont they just play eachother week in week out will be more interesting.
Then we can look at the EPL - It's either Man Utd or Chelsea so why bother over to Germany Bayern Munich win almost every year
Lets just forget about Football what's the point
P.S. If you followed the game a tiny bit more closely you would know that Hibs are one win from top and have beaten both Celtic and Rangers this week - who both did well in Europe recently.
And if they played each other every week, it would no longer be the biggest derby in the world!

Well I watched it live. I have been away on holidays and was able to catch it on Setanta.
Rangers were the better side on the day, The penalty was definately a penalty.Celtic unfortunately couldnt put away any of their chances. We had 4 excellent chances all saved by McGregor and for me he was one of the best players on the day. Rangers had 2 chances and took them both, barr the penalty. Funny how Boruc didnt have a save to make, not counting the 2 goals which he had no chance of saving.Ferguson played well, and is in abit of nice form lately Backing it up after the fine display against Ukraine.
Don't get to carried away fellas , remember it was 3pts. needed from Rangers to keep in touch with the champions,,,,,,,,,,,,

Agh,,,,,Bollox harry, you post some sh.ite sometimes.harryhandsome1 wrote:But he didnt score Knight 7 and it was 3 zip.
Rangers didnt play well although they were by far the better team, worrying thing from Celtic viewpoint is that they are no stronger than they were last season, probably poorer.
We didnt play well on Saturday. You cant play well every week, it would be nice to do that, but you do come up against your opposition that want to win as well.

SPL - Boruc will not say sorry
Eurosport - Tue, 23 Oct 11:57:00 2007
Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc will not apologise for not shaking hands with Rangers players after last weekend's Old Firm derby.
The Polish shot stopper refused the hands of several opposition players following Celtic's 0-3 loss on Saturday and he openly admits it is his dislike of their bitter city rivals that lead him to make the snub.
He said: "I don't have to love anyone. I don't like this club, these players."
Boruc claimed Rangers players had set out to "provoke" and "offend" him, only to revert to more friendly behaviour at the final whistle.
But the 27-year-old sees Rangers players as nothing more than foes during the season and he makes no apologies for his actions.
"The season is continuing in Scotland, we are enemies and we are competing for the championship," he added.

Firstly, I never said the Huns werent the better side on Saturday.harryhandsome1 wrote:Yogi, my thought is that they look no stronger and probably poorer than last season, its not shi:te its just my opinion. Like my comments on Rangers i dont think they played well but were the better team.
I agree they were.
Harry, I think Celtic is stronger this year, with new players,Brown,Mcdonald ( whos top goal scorer in the SPL ),Donati,Killen. That was our worst game this year, last Saturday and previous games we have played well but not punished teams on the score sheet. Once big Pressely,Hartley,Wilson and Venegoor of Hesselink come back from injury, that will strengthen us even more. So I disagree that you reckon celtic are poorer than last year.
We must be sh.it after all beating AC MIlan 2-1,counts for nothing.
