Juve eye Diego (Werder Bremen)
Juve eye ‘new Kaka’ Friday 12 October, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus are watching Werder Bremen’s Brazilian starlet Diego and considering a January swoop, according to reports in the peninsula.
The 22-year-old midfielder has already represented the Selecao 24 times and has dazzled fans in Germany’s Bundesliga, where he was September’s Player of the Month.
The Bianconeri have made an impressive start to the campaign, but many believe they are lightweight in the middle as Tiago Mendes is yet to shine.
As contract talks with captain Alessandro Del Piero continue to stutter, speculation that the Old Lady could turn to a younger alternative increases.
Ex-Porto man Diego is under contract at the Weserstadion until 2011, but he has a rescission clause that could be activated if one of Europe’s giants such as Juve made an approach.
According to Tuttosport, the Cadetti champions have had scouts watching Diego and are ready to fight Real Madrid for his signature.
While the asking price is likely to be astronomical, one factor that points to a move to Serie A is that Diego has Italian citizenship in addition to his Brazilian passport.

Diego's coming to us.
He's got a contract with Bremen for a few more years, but there's a "flaw" which says he can leave if there's a big club (i.e - Madrid, Barca, Milan, Juve watever) that makes a big offer for him.
So basically he's staying at Bremen until a big club signs him, and it'll be us if anyone, he's even said that he would love to play for Real, we nearly snared him this season and after he played us at the Bernebau and put on a performance once again, our Management is unanimously agreeing to go after him. (throw in the fact that he and Robinho tore apart Brazil when they both played at Sao Paulo together)
Anyway, we'll see what happens. He's my favourite player in the world and trust me, when he's on fire - you'd think he's the best in the world.

Madrid wouldn't need Kaka if they get Nasri or Diego, because these two attacking midfielders are big future prospects and currently are some of the best attacking midfielders in the world.Hala Madrid wrote:Diego's coming to us.
