The trials will be held at Marden Sports Complex (65 Lower PortRush Road, Marden).

Sunday 14th October 2007, 9am-2pm

- be part of our 50th anniversary celebrations
- all boys receive commemerative tracksuit, playing strip, polo top and training outfits.
- open to all boys
-coached by: Deigo Pellegrini (former professional player)

Will they be playing in 17 A or B's??

At this stage we are playing in the 17B but it is the opportunity to be coached by a person that has a wealth of experience.

Always the question A's or B's....agree with Silent P.....look at what coaching development you can get.....also if the player is that good look at where the senior teams are for more opportunities to play up.... :wink:

Hopefully having this coach will maintain the stronger players - as Blue Eagles had a good U16 team. Agree with your thoughts on having a good coach with experience but I am sure you will agree that good players in the squad are needed to make good training sessions and develop a players game.

I heard Diego is coaching 17s and only 17s this year can anyone confirm this????

what do they do at a 5 hour trial? :shock:

don't worry about shin pads, bring the oxygen masks (and plenty of Oxygen)!

yes correct u17's only.

starts at 9 but doesnt necessairly finish at 2pm.

5 hour trial obviously means there's breaks in between.

Given the possible numbers that attend, they could be playing small sided games and rotate players around. This ensures every player gets a decent chance to be seen, and every player effectively trials in front of coaches for about 2 hours.

There could be seprate drills for defenders, attackers, midfielders, goalkeepers also.

At least that's my guess.
