The club actually had Roy Laird in to talk to all the players and committee a few years ago.
It was a good talk about what is required to achieve success and to also maintain it. Alot was taken on board by all that night. Ask again in a few years about similarities. You might not the same levels of success in the bank but we are building up our account. Off field we have adopted alot of simialar philosophies and approaches for achieving success that Centrals employ.

We even share a trainer

Back in the early 80's Centrals coach Darryl Hicks gave similar speeches to the Downs players and was a frequent spectator at the Downs.
I believe that David Saywell, an ex-Centrals player played for one of the Downs C-Teams over a few years. One of the Cochranes also coached the Downs school soccer team.

It was Alan Stewart that changed the attitude and direction of the club, i was there and heard him talk about the passion and succesion plan that was put in place - he made the club great off the back of the supporters attitude and love for the club.... smart man - that was in '94, how they goin now??? well done.
