I must say that the final yesterday really surprised me. I went to watch thinking it will be a dull boring game, but BOTH teams played really well. The level of skill some players posses and the overall game play was very pleasing to watch.
WELL DONE METRO Girls and bad luck Fulham.
On a particular note, I believe Kirrals for Metro was B.O.G and Metro deserved to win overall. The amount of chances they had were more threatening than the ones that Fulham had.
I must say that I have much respect for Shorty (Fulham keeper). When a Metro player went down in 2nd half, she was the ONLY one who ran to her side to stretch her leg - prob from cramps. She played the game in great spirit - Actually the WHOLE game was from both teams.
I will NO DOUBT watch future SA womens Footbal games.

i just dislike the fact that you come on here and talk like FULHAM is the f-kn greatest team on this face of the earth...

yes you have won 4 leagues in the row and congratulations.

but yesterday was a wake up call and congratulations to metro and it isnt always the best to lose in penalties...

good luck next year my friend.

how was yesterday a wake up call? in all fairness i think both teams would have gone into the game as equal favs. metro topped the group in the group stages and fulham only beat metro once during the year with the other 2 or 3 games finishing in draws

fulham have been understrengthed all season so there was nothing to be cocky about. meh anyways. done and dusted for another year

i felt both teams went in very even... i thought that shorty's in-experience might have been the difference... but she played better than i expected... lol

anyway... it was a shame that the sportsmanship displayed on the pitch was not replicated off the pitch... but you get that i guess...

YEAH LOOK AT HOW ADELAIDE UNITED ACTED WHEN THEY LOST BUNCH OF LOSERS!!!!!!

aaaaaaaaanyway - well adam my inexperience and lack of training definately showed in the shoot-out... then again all 5 of them took excellent penalties..

its ok GUBBO is coming BACK to FULHAM next year and is my gk coach (right gubs ahha)

It happened after Thomai was announced as the medal winner for BOG. Boo's from the metro area. Thom was class on the day n deserved the medal i thought. Prevented metro from scoring numerous times and played out from the back with style and used her feet well

No I do not play for metro. I was there as a neutral supporter of Football.
I only sat near the metro supporters for No reason what so ever!
Yeah No.7 did play very well but I still think that Kkirrals (9) for Metro was a bit better. Thats my opinion!

Neways, great game girls pity of the result from your end - But overall womens football won overall I think. I am a new fan!

On another note, I want to congratulate the METRO reserve team on their win. They REALLY impressed me with their build up play and were VERY WELL coached by the big man ENZO.
Congrats to all involved

PS, I heard the BBQ went down well. Did the girls actully make it, the ones getting plastered at the game???

A great finish to the season. Congrats to Metro and well played Fulham.

Everyone sees players and how they play differently.

Kirralea had a great game as did Thomai but personally my choice would have been Lee Fata.

No one has mentioned the courage and determination of Harry who battled through the whole game, and kept going when it must have been obvious to all from the outset she was carrying an injury. I salute you Harry.

I was happy for Kirralea because she was on the losing side the last 2 years. Well done Kirrals. Another Southerner joins the winners. :) :)

Real showpiece for womens football all round. 8)

And how is that??
I know the coach of the reserve team and I spoke to him last night. He told me that they were having a BBQ for the girls last night.
Also, where I was sitting, the metro cheer squad and girls from the reserve team were knocking back the drinks like it was water. Some appeared intoxicated by the end of the game.

I do not know how that is knowing a heck alot about Metro United?????

yep agree, i think all the girls on both teams battled it out, wen it came to the crunch both teams were gutsing it out in a bid not to lose.. may not have been the most entertaining game for most part, but hey was full of heart courage n determination, which is wat our beautiful game is about.

Thomai defiantly deservred BOG..

she has been consistant throughout the whole year, and to play well in the big match of the year, she was awsome.

shes had to fill big boots as that was giannas possie, and she did it well for most of the season.

for her to get BOG over a name like Kirralea Brock, i think we should all give her credit. both players were outstanding, and at the end of the day, only one had to be chosen.

so well done thom!.. u earnt it!

as for Fulham losing, we're just proud of winning the League as that takes a whole year! and for us to come out week after week, either with injured players, 10 players, players going overseas..i think we did better then everyone expected..

anyway well done to metro. but i thought it was a pretty even match!

its always hard losing on penulties
