Well. Just returned from the crap end of the world Myanmar. Have some news.
Especially for SAD GAL.
Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore,Laos and the Philippines would struggle to beat Fulham fit and all available. and definitely would not beat SASI or a composite team picked from SAWSA Premier League. Even Vietnam would struggle. Myanmar and Thailand are a long way behind the other Asian teams. ie Korea, China Australia etc.
Myanmar players are mostly in the army or police. That is part of a Military Dictatorship and get all the time in the world to train.Thailand are the same. We are talking of countries with close to100 million people. No netball to contend with etc. The Philippines. These minnows are 5-10 years behind in coaching tecnique etc. Do not ever put down the elite here in SA. Being in armed services means they are being payed to play. :)

Touche! And again. You're off the track.

I think your arrogance is coming thru loud and clear (and is somewhat demeainibng to non-elite players). "Do not ever put down the elite here in SA"

Poor taste. Start performing and succeeding and then (and only then) can you claim the elite title!

We can only work with what we've got here.. I don't know if you've failed to realise but S.A aint no NSW sunshine! Our population and numbers of players to choose from is limited!!

By the way K. when I said you...it was not directed at you! Its the "general YOU". Makes sense?

I agree we are not that far behind however, WE (SA) are behind the 8 ball. Out of mind. Out of sight.

call stacey day and ask her just how far behind nsw we actually are - and she'll say a clear "country mile" behind nsw...
and thats not due to the coaching.... its due to the lack of players...

What a load of crock!

Where do numbers of players equate to quality?

If your rationale is correct.......they should do away with your program as there will never be anyone from SA that will make it.

The mandate of SASI is to produce athletes at National/International standard. The coaches/support staff/gym people etc should have the program to meet national benchmarks. Its their job to replicate the intensity and fierceness needed to compete at National level.

The only concession I will give you, is that with the weight of numbers there is greater competition for spots. This is the same for all sports.

ok so let me compare this.. we have ONE PLAYER and ONE PLAYER ONLY at this stage in the matildas.. that has actually stayed in s.a to continue to train here with SASI.. the likes of NSW have about.. their ENTIRE TEAM in the matildas.. its due to the many many players they have to pick from.. s.a have produced a couple of stars.. but look what happens.. they up n leave n head to somehwere like NSW to get the better training they need!!

SASI isnt a waist of time buddy.. its just not up to NSW high standards of training.. we have talent here.. but most players take it on themselves to move for the better quailty training they need.. that is all!! and due to this.. it makes it hard to do anything!!

as for the young matildas.. we have two players here form s.a in the squad.. with once again majority of that squad full of NSW players.. and at this stage we only have ONE of those two actually still based in s.a training here with us.. athletes make choices for their own benifits!!
