i heard mark williams (who i hate!) say yesterday that its AFL not little kids playing...
and thats how everyone should look at this, we all put our names up and train hard - therefore we shouldnt have a cry if someone elbows, knocks out, sledges... its all part of the game.................
we're all old enough to deal with stuff like that...

It takes no skill to go studs up and kick the crap out of the ball and crach through a player hence you're a defender.

KrAzY wrote:I would love for you to give me a list of SERIOUS injuries that metro players have inflicted upon anyone in the league this year???

Then maybe you have some evidence to justify ur comments about us being too hard for ur liking!

Look at Australia (men) at the world cup ..definately play a HARDER brand of football than most other countries..

just because u cant handle or cant handle seeing a little physical contact dont come on here insulting clubs like metro and cumby!
To All Metro Tragics

Get a life, I'm sick of your whow is me, everyone is against METRO attitude, I only have to look at your results over the last few years not withstanding your lower DIVS to know what I'm talking about!!

Infact your team has been known to play "dirty" at the player tactics.....

I dont need to justify to you...just be aware I do attend games from all teams in the league...playing hard, skillful soccer is NOT making illegal tackles or going for a player...."dont even compare your brand of soccer with the Aussie mens team" you're about a squillion miles apart in style and skill!!!

LIke I told your friend Ms K.....this forum is to discuss aspects of the game good and bad.....get off the METRO "whow - downward Dog" bandwagaon and listen too others opinions!!!

There must be alot of fragile egos down at METRO!!! To feel so threatened by commentary on the game of SOCCER in this state!!!!

I will continue to make and state my opinion, if it generates discussion good and bad then that is a good thing because it gets others thinking....putting forward their opinions as well, and hopefully to advance soccer in this state !! Its not about METRO its about the game of SOCCER!!!

Thats what FORUMS are for and about, not just social banter, but to bring out discussion of all aspects of the game GOOD and BAD!!!

When you grow up you will understand this concept!!!

whoa whoa whoa - this isnt a metro topic therefore leave them out of it...

anyone would think metro are popular the way ppl talk about them and run their mouths on this forum hahahah (jokes girls!)

the metro girls may be tragic but lets keep that to a hush and not write that on a public forum where it will spark a few flames....
keep it simple....

everyone plays dirty - i everyone has been known to play dirty at some times - u play to your advantage and if metro's advantage is to play dirty then do it - esp. if tha stupid ref duznt pick up on it...
PROVIDING YOU DONT TAKE MY SISTER OUT!! - im fine with hard play...

you stated some good point sportsa - but take it down a knotch (i.e - the metro tragics!!) coz yeah it'l just get this bl00dy topic blocked again...

geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez usually im the instigator hey - and its me trying to settle the forum down these days hahaha

I dont care what u watch ..
Who u are ..
Why u watch..
or what ur opinion is..

Just cant handle a lil bit of physical soccer..

thanks for showing me once again that you could not answer my previous question - ill take my win and leave now!

hahaha!

No.. but it does take skill to time tackles at a crucial time.. e.g the box!! which im pretty sure is a defenders job - which includes.. not to give away penalties!! every player all over the pitch has to make tackles thruout the game aint just defenders my friend!! so dnt go shouting frmt he roof tops that bad tackles come from "defenders" and defenders only!!

over and out!!

And Sportysa.. im pretty sure your the 1st one to jump on any bandwagon concerning metro and how theyve done wrong!! i suggest u get over it and quit bringing up what us "metro tragics" needs to do to get ove rthis metro metro metro topic that continues to get brought up!! but thanks for the advice!!

its not always about winning or losing an argument. this is not what this forum is about. so what if ur team is labelled as dirty tacklers. so what?? are u going to go around and hunt down everyone who thinks negatively of ur team?

dont think so

stop trying to win arguments and start to accept that people view ur team differently to what u do. not everyone is going to like ur teammates and what they stand for when they go out to play.

metro have become the laughing stock of this womens forum due to the fact that a few posters cannot hack the fact that there are ppl out there with opposing views. the view from the sidelines is much different to that of the one on the field. instead of taking every comment made against ur club as a personal threat accept that everyone has their right to an opinion and move on and just bloody play the game

Thanks Gubs....like I've said sooooooooo many times before if the boot fits then wear it....Ms K and other ( METRO TRAGICS ).........I.....we dont care what you think...WE are allowed our opinions........I..& others on the Forum are making comments on the SOCCER in this state......

Grow up and just accept everyone is entitiled to an opinion..........

Whether it involves your club or others..........I and I'm sure others appreciate the roles defenders play in a game....but playing, clean, fair hard soccer doesn't mean taking a player out.....thats not taking advantage , thats called trying to take a player out....whether its your club or anyone else!!!

Sooooooooooo I'll say it again .....let others share, state their comments..without you getting all hot and bothered under the collar!!

PS: Shorty...you dont have cool things down...ppl are NOT all anti Metro they are commenting on what they see is happening in the game of SOCCER and dont like the direction its going and yes..REFS need to take control of the game from the start..a few red cards early would certainly send the message out loud and clear...and we may to start seeing soccer the way its meant to be played!!!

I will continue to state my opinion and look forward to read others comments on improving the state of soccer in SA ..not idle chit chat that means nothing..or does nothing for soccer in SA.

What exactly is ur level of involvement with the game ?
And how are you doing anything more than putting down the level of our game at current?

This is not a metro attack ..just incase u think it is ..im actually interested in the role u play to see better womens football in sa - other than what i see here which is alot of talking about it..

My involvement has nothing to do with you...is the forum not a place to discuss issues that arise in the game of soccer! What is your involvement other than to criticise what users of this forum are entitled to do and that is discuss and put out there topics for discussion...because believe it or not discussion, highlighting issues often generates changes..even if its in the way people view an issue etc.....

Why do you and others feel that you own this forum and can only discuss idle rubbish at times....stop attacking others opinions and get on with what this forum is about and that is discussing soccer GOOD & BAD aspects of the game!!

Who I am, or my involvement has nothing to do with what I see, hear and feel......GET IT...if its too hot in the kitchen then GET OUT!!

I'll let you know that I do play, sport competitively, I know the commitment it takes to get a cohesive sporting team together to perform week in week out, i know what it meas to have injuries and rise above it to get back on the pitch, court, park..........Soooooooooooooo stop attacking others legitimate right to their opinion ..the last time I looked at our constitution we're entitled to free speech.....

PS: I repeat again...I dont have a problem with physicallity, we want to see tough, CLEAN soccer.- the ball is the object not the player.....taking a player out is not what the game is about.........and by the way....I'm one of the toughest competitors you could play against in any sport..I have never gone out to take a player out......sooooooooo again stick to making relevant comments !!!
KrAzY

haha now who is fired up ..

I was honestly asking what ur level of involvement was as there are alot of people with wonderful opinions about how the game should be run, played, etc.. but dont actually do anymore than talk about it on this forum.

If you want ur ideas heard and to actually be put into action then you would know that this forum doesnt help!

You would be better in taking your opinion straight to sawsa ...

but thank u for biting my head of and proving that you are just as bad as the 'metro tragics'

shorty wrote:we dont "think" ...

******Shorty & others...........if you got a red card for an illegal tackle ...trust me you wouldn't be doing it again....my point was that, if refs gave a red card I guarantee that coaches, players wouldn't be doing it too often..... stamp it out from the earliest that way players who play dirty. will soon get the mssg.......and that goes for anyone whether they are from the East, the West, the North and the South!! I dont differentiate where you play..if your're a dirty player then you have no place in the game of soccer. I have reckless tackles cause career ending injuries. The game is about skill at the ball........thats it........there a plenty of quality skillful players in our clubs who win the ball fair and squarely just on their skill, not by attacking the player trying to take their legs from under them.

******Krazy.....How do you know that I haven't made my thoughts known to SAWSA and others that make a difference...you say that this forum doesn't achieve anything...well if I'm reading correctly I'm sure I have seen comments from club officials on here, from coaches, players even,.....your're soooooooooo closed minded and narrow focused.

You may not treat the forum as a viable avenue for instituting change, but again I'll state........."even generating discussion is a way for making changes.........."

Soooooooooooooo dont assume anything about anybody who posts comments on the Forum whether this one or any other!!

Make relevant comments not idle chit, chat or banter........and for the record.......my last post was in reply to your assumption of me that I have no idea about whats happening in soccer in this state...!!! Thats what I have noticed ppl make comments and then there is high proportion of you who straight away jump on the defensive band wagon and get away from the topic at hand..and turn it around to a personal slanging match.......

I'll repeat my mantra.........Unless you have something worthwhile to add, I dont want to hear your idle rubbish.....sooooooo GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!

i quite regularly watch my friend play and when ever she has played against metro the girls never seem to play dirty against her or her team, yeah she might get a couple of knocks but its only cause they are going for the ball and it never seems like the player was going for her. unlike other teams when players run into her n knock her over when she doesnt have the ball cumon people if u get a couple of knocks get over it, stick to the ball not player
