That's disgraceful. If it is a draw then City (russell) is vindicated and the ref should be sacked.

A draw illustrates that the decision to abandon the game was not correct.

If I were Olympic or City i would go for the win. Nothing less.

i stil say russell must have been an absolute disgrace... even if the reff was a tool, he must hav been a real knob to make a reff act in that way...

A replay means that the ref's decision was wrong. Olympic are now disadvantaged.

A replay means no one wants to make the hard decision.

Courtz. I was not there and cannot comment on the incident. If it is as you say, then Olympic wins. The ref should be supoorted and the rules for abandoned games should be observed and if need be, go to a tribunal.

The ref was the only impartial person there and his word should stand.

All others there are biased and cannot be expected to give a fair recount of events.

The problem that occurred was that Russell refused to leave and when he finally went to walk away he swore at the ref. Whilst this is not acceptable, why should players have to suffer. Both teams want the win.. so replay the game.

Courtz what are you on about ...?? u clearly havnt had that ref .. EVERYONE whos had him has stated he has issues.. he made a parent who barely says boo at games leave the pitch area for saying "where's the card ref" and then told him if he commented once more he would sue him ... like what is that??

maybe in order to sort out womens soccer in sa ..we get refs who actually know what they can and can't do in relation to the rules first..

I dont know much about the situation, only going on what I have read but I believe that it would be unfair to Olympic for it to be replayed. All coaches and players have a code of conduct they must follow and unfortunately the City coach broke that. And I understand that EVERYONE thinks that this guy is a tool (and dont we know there are a few of them), but on that note the Olympic coaches/players had to tolerate this guy too. Unfortunately girls it is unfair on the team but your coach is representing your team.

I understand both sides of the argument but the ref is in charge even if he is a w@nk3r

The verdict stands at the game being replayed. A disciplinary hearing found that Russell had no charges to face, that the ref over reacted in the situation. Therefore only fair for game to be replayed.

Judging by the other post that advises that City's and Westies (Olympics) coaches are leaving, the end result wasn't good!

This game was replayed tonite and it was evident that adelaide city had nothing to play for, would not change them coming second place unless they lost 14-0. Olympic winning 4-1.
Olympic deserved and wanted it more so well done to them.

Yer i know..

We had our reserves keeper in goal, slater away, michelle injured, adele away and therefore we had to play a few players who were struggling with injuries etc. but we did have our chances .. we just didnt capatalise. Also i dont think we really had the right attitude being the end of the season and that.
