Did the keeper get a touch on the ball from the throw in which gave the Downs a goal? Was hard to see but I didn't think he did.

Downs losing Matty Blackwood 10 mins left a big hole in the middle of the park.

i was up the far end myself and not sure but considering he's not the first choice keeper the only thing he did was pick two out the net otherwise had nothing to do...... no offence to the lad but with another keeper i think it wouldve been an easy win for the vale.....they play good football and probably wouldve been furhter up the ladder if they played the way they did today......

They played well in the second half. I thought Downs were better in the first. Having Brooks gives them something else to aim at up front. Helps bring Nicholls into the game and takes the attention off him. He might be a bit older and bigger, but Brooks is still great on the ball.

yeah fair call jay, brooks is still 'value for money'....... downs had more posession first half but really didnt make anything of it where as vale i thought looked more threatening when going forward and in the end it worked out for them....... game was worthy of a final i thought....

The Vale took their chances well and finished in front at the end. It was a bit like the Crows - Hawthorn game.
Maybe Mad Monday should have been held back to Sept 24?
Blackwood was a big early loss for the Downs and Hulls may have been harder to beat but for his knee. Downs goal from the throw in didn't appear to have been touched by anyone but probably balanced out the earlier Downs chance which appeared to cross the line.
Zafran's introduction of the experienced Branco? was the key to the Vales last gasp winner.
I think the Vale may be a little too physical for the Young Tea Tree Gully side but as any Downs supporter would, I'll be urging Gully on.
Could make for a good Cichanowski Cup in 2008!

Legga here at least with the Vale winning the Local Iga at the Vale can put on their usual special of $1.50 mince meat to help the Vale bulk up for the clash against a very ordinary TTG side. Maltese Eddy can sell the space on his horse teeth for advertisment and Rick can sell his butt skin so the Elizabeth area can get another drive in.
The first game between the TTG and Hey St Peter was like watching paint dry and I reckon as much as it pains me the Vale will be to strong not that I will be going down to watch as there is a dung beetle doco on Fox that day... At least at the end of the day we won something this year and Parafield won naff all..

As for the gumby statment Handyman you are a total blowhole who supports a third rate piece of crud Team. Any support our club has shown you over the years has just disappeared. Marooned is spot on and you can lick our Div 1 Championship sacks....

you took all the accolades and congratulations when you won the league so stop being girlie men and cop a bit of what your so good at dishhing out

Always pump the club up and yeah you live or die by it. It all makes for good fun looks like the year for back to back. In all honesty I hope you smash the Vale as I can not bring myself to support them. It is just a pity it is down at craps ville.... Good luck to all involved and you all can still lick our Div 1 championship sacks

funny that when the shoe is on a different foot

when the downs beat parafield in the cup final a couple of years ago, they had their cup winners t shirts ready to go not long after. And some of the downs players were still wearing it the the 7 a side tournament a month or two later

what is there a rule on how long you can keep a shirt? at least we wash them. Maybe you lot shouldnt buy the double dragon brand and yours would last longer. woops touchy subject you have to win something to wear the shirt sorry. How did your ressies go yesterday?

wrong team marooned, i dont support either

no rule on the t shirt - but we all got reminded who the cup winners were that year, quite repetitive for a while, even better when its against the gardens ..

I thought ressies dont count ? or do they now ?

As for washing, water restrictions will do that
