the communtiy shield was a microcosm of the season ahead
chelsea will huff and puff but wont have the squad depth to beat manu
i mean if swp is getting a run well...
their big name flair players cant hack the EPL and will be sold back to the no tackling leagues
manu have already proven it can win the league with a lesser quality (imo) squad
liverpool will "challenge for the title" just as they have at the beginning of the season for the last few years
halfway thru the season they will give up the "challenge" and start tanking games in favour of doing well in the cups, which they will do well in as always
arsenal will continue to play "pretty football" around the box , lots of nice flicks and touches, trouble is they so busy trying to look good that they never shoot , they won't score enough goals
couldnt score enough without the injured Henry last year, and now with Henry gone , i dont see how that will change
Tottenham , if Berbatov (class) stays fit , will challenge Arsenal for the CL spot

1st Liverpool has not started a season well for years and are to far behind to challenaged so they try there luck in the cups.
2nd Man U were very lucky last year thats why they have spent lots and lots and lots of money so they may be up there again this year
3rd Chelsea hopefully will not have so many injuries this time around (Has not started well with Terry and Lamps out already) and will be hard to beat.
I do agree with the Aresenal comment
Spurs Blackburn Sunderland and Man C will suprise
Will be a good season
Bring it on

What are you on about? Liverpool start every season bleating about it being "our year" until about 10 games in when they concede defeat and start playing for cups and start talking about how that new striker they sign (whether it's Baros, Cisse or Torres) is going to be the missing key. What The wrote:NO F#@*!+G IDEAvertu1 wrote:the communtiy shield was a microcosm of the season ahead

Man U won the league in a canter last season and were hardly challenged by Chelsea.
And hopefully Chelsea won't have many injuries ... except their captain Terry and most consistent player of the last few seasons Lampard are out injured?? You remember how poor Chelsea were defensively when Terry was out? Who is going to replace him, Alex? Bit of a gamble if you ask me, especially for a team looking to win the league.
If Spurs surprise it will either be by being top 3 or below 10th. Hoping it's the former. If we finish 4th or 5th or 6th, it won't be a surprise.
I don't know where you pixies came from, but I like your pixie drink.
You sound like you have no idea mate by what you've just written. Liverpool might start off poorly in the league by they always turn it around in the 2nd half of the season. They have knocked out Chelsea in a few cups lately though haven't they remember? What The wrote:NO F#@*!+G IDEAvertu1 wrote:the communtiy shield was a microcosm of the season ahead

Man Utd were lucky? Whatever mate thats why they were barely challenged by your beloved Chelsea during the season & the only reason they have spent so much money as you say is to make sure they are right around the mark again this season.
& Chelsea who have already lost Terry & Lampard through injury are going to be tough to beat?? They have lost 2 of their best players already but are going to be tough to beat? Man Utd did it quite easily last season with those players available to Chelsea anyway.

Haha good call Gully Boys, what a knob he is!
I hope he does get sacked to be honest. He's an absolute tool and whenever Chelsea loses he always blames someone for it. It's never him or his team. Plus he always says how the better team always loses??? How does the best team always lose what a dumb shit

yeh not sure where i'll watch it mate, keep us posted though, would be great to watch it with a few villa fans other than just my old man now 7 week old daughter! were gaining in numbers!!!!!!!!!Mr Goalie wrote:i tried uploading a smaller version of that as my avatar but new avatars aren't working atm.
have you got fox at home? if not will you be going to watch the match and where? few villa fans were thinking cas but we do have soccer the next day

There are 2 Villa fans at our club as well. Im a little bit worried about this game. Villa are in good form preseason and our preseason has been far from convincing. Not to mention we are slow starters. Hopefully we can get off to a winning start this year!paul merson wrote:yeh not sure where i'll watch it mate, keep us posted though, would be great to watch it with a few villa fans other than just my old man now 7 week old daughter! were gaining in numbers!!!!!!!!!Mr Goalie wrote:i tried uploading a smaller version of that as my avatar but new avatars aren't working atm.

I feel you guys will do reasonably well, def. shown some positive intent in the transfer market... keane never accepts second best, you will need more than the most overpriced goalie in britain to stay up though... If you're happy beating Newcastle and Boro though, at least you'll have 4 or 5 wins... maybe not enough.....????
Go the Reds..... Liverpool will be the closest to Man U.... Arsenal are finished, Chelsea's big guns have been found out as duds.... Spurs to do well I think....
