Juniors 2008

Post by Hollygirl »

Same old stories doing the rounds about Juniors being aligned to their seniors....is there any truth to it for next year?

Also hearing that all clubs may only be able to field one team in each age group...this would be a shame for kids development

Why not? It makes sense to align the junior football groups with the respective senior team group standings. This should create a higher standard competetion and should improve the skills of the players at their appropriate development stage.

If you are tied to your senior teams performance then you will not have the incentive as you a reliant on there performace to maintain your position in the league.
Can you imagine if you played for Modbury U15's as an example and this season you are playing against all the current super league teams and you are doing well say top 2. At the end of the season the Modbury seniors are relegated. Next season through no fault of their own these boys will no longer face as tough an opposition and may move on which in turn destabilises the long term future of the club involved.
Junior teams in the EPL are not playing against other EPL teams during their seasons.

With your opinion which is of no consequence at all
