Fred Goldstone wrote:My sources in Manchester tell me that he has laid down the law to the players already there that he will tolerate no more of the bitchiness that was prevalent at the club for the last few years.

He has also put his foot down on the drinking culture within the club.

Those who step out of line just once will be out of the senior squad altogether.

City signings glut continues with Elano

Manchester City have signed their third player of the day with the £8million capture of Brazilian midfielder Elano Blumer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Elano's arrival continues a remarkable spending spree which has already seen Croatia international Vedran Corluka and Spaniard Javier Garrido join the club today.

New manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has now made seven new signings since he took over with Rolando Bianchi, Martin Petrov, Gelson Fernandes and Geovanni also moving to the club.
