SUNDAY DIV 4
Not enough gets said on this forum about sunday div 4....just thought i'd start a new topic...i have always played in higher divisions but find that this year div 4 seems to be a pretty decent league compared to playing against div 4 teams in the cup etc in previous years

Nice one RtnMchn...
It looks like we effectively handed Asteras the championship after poor draw against Noarlunga on Sunday. Even if we don't drop any more points, and manage to beat Asteras, we will still lose on goal difference. We have to rely on Asteras dropping points.
Also, Northern United are still on our tails for the second promotion spot.

yeah well we are playing good soccer at the moment....did you guys have the ref up there that wears the sunnies even when its raining??? thats prob why yas didnt win. he sent me off that game...tell ya now though if we get him again i refuse to play.
looks like its going to be a good finish to the season we still have to play greenock up there. who knows if we do drop any points which i hope we dont and dont think we will the catch up match between us will be the game of the year.

also forgot to add that there are probably going to be 3 promotion spots this year as a team has dropped out of div 3 so that means 3 teams should get promoted.
dont think you'll have to worry about northern united too much. not saying there bad or anything just that the gap is too big with only 12 more points up for grabs

Funny you should mention the standards Div 5 with Beograd, Black Eagles, Aguila, South Coast, Gawler is very even.Aldo Serena wrote:Nice one RtnMchn...

The Reserves are terrible with our guys at a combined weight of about 1.3 tonnes and 75ft tall are barely raising a gallop with many goal from set pieces and general ball play.
Seniors are in a dogfight for promotion with the Black Eagles very nippy, Beograd very skillful but defensively slower, Aguila with two remarkable players and rest average and South Coast/Gawler pomy teams that run all day.
It would be good to play you guys next year but something tells me we will need to get promoted the year after to see that happen.
We are slowly building a good young side in Seniors and Rough and tough reserves that dont hold back in many areas of life.
Good to finally hear from the low division battlers.

Yep, we had the guy with the sunnies at Noarlunga - shocker!
Our run home is a bit easier with Athelstone, Northern and Maiwand and obviously the catch-up game with Asteras at the end of the year. Also, we should get back some first-team regulars this week after we were missing about six on Sunday.
Greenock up there will be the danger game for Asteras. Furburger, can you please keep us updated with the Mawiand situation.
Also, looks like CC Tigers forfeited against Northern United. If they pull out of the comp altogether, will all the results against them be wiped (as with the Reserves)?

bet your game against maiwand gets abandoned. They are the biggest mugs going around. When decisions go against them they give it "you must be racist". (like their not).
One guy in particular is lucky he did not leave in an ambulance. I know the ref personally and he's far from racist. Probably the fairest ref going round.

Some people are the pitch. They think its all over. Wait a minute, it was over at half time.
Is that the fat, bald guy that is really strict on swearingRtnMchn wrote:yeah well we are playing good soccer at the moment....did you guys have the ref up there that wears the sunnies even when its raining??? thats prob why yas didnt win. he sent me off that game...tell ya now though if we get him again i refuse to play.

I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.

We had him last year for both Noarlunga and South coast away. He is definitely a nightmare and I think when you do the same teams week in week out you would have to start favouring them.RtnMchn wrote:yeh he's a absolute coc...ead tried to suspend me for 4 weeks just for swearing would love to belt him but im not like that if i was i'd play for maiwand lol

I don't think there is going to be three promotion spots. My understanding was that only one team would be relegated from Div 3, and therefore only two teams will go up.
As for the ref with the sunglasses from down south - I hate when refs punish things like swearing, etc but let blatant fouls go. They need to get their priorities right.

I have gotten more yellow cards this year for swearing at my own team mates than I have had for anything else.
Stranger things have happened with promotion who would have thought 5 teams from Div 5 would have been promoted and 4 from division 4 last season? Makes pushing for a promotion spot a bit of a joke when some of the the teams you thrash all season get promoted for just being in the same league :?
