Post by 1from1 »

Massive local derby this week should be tough game, downs have been very consistant this year, i think they should win, no 9-2 result for the vale this week

Unfortunately, a disappointing loss for the Downs 1-0. Vale scored about 10-15 minutes into the second half. Vale was the better side, however Downs kept creating chances, just couldn't convert. Was disappointed in one striker today - he seems to wait for the ball to be placed at his feet and throws tantrums when team mates don't pass the ball to him.

Unlucky Downs and hopefully a win next week.

Disapointing result for the Downs today, we appeared to be the fitter team and created more chances and were denied a penalty by the ref when player clearly brought down inside the box. (on video) same ref as last week same strange decisions. Downs had won all 14 games played this season including pre season and cup games so a wake up call may have been on the cards. Game was played in good spirits and we thank the Vale for their hospitality. There is a long rivallry between both clubs but some good friendships aswell. Vale were the better team on the day. Bring on NAB.

Saw the game and personally I thought that it was a fairly even game. The Downs biggest problem for me yesterday was that they were trying to walk the ball in to the goals. From my recollection it wasn't until the last 5 minutes of the game before they started taking some shots at the goal.

Was definately a penalty inside the box and not on the edge as stated by the referee and asking his linesman would have confirmed this.

Vale always looked as though they might sneak one when they went forward and certainly didn't deserve to lose this one.

Must say though, the crowd there was bigger than any I have seen at Super, Premier or State League games this season. Well done to all the local supporters who get out and support your team each week!!
First the rotating...then the Dennis Wiseing...now the punking of me on my show. That is it Big boss...No More!

It's also up to the strikers to score for a team to win.
You didn't do too bad a job from where I was standing. It was a lucky goal that they got, but unfortunately you could see it was going to happen at one stage or another.
Perhaps it was best player for the Downs that you got?

If you read my initial post correctly, you would have seen I said I was disappointed today in a striker. I never said that he had played crap all year, did I? You have been scoring goals for us this year, but it was an observation I made on the day. Sorry if that offends you, but I am entitled to an opinion - however shyte you make think that be.
I am interested to see who you think I am though.

not a bad thing to let players know when they have chosen the wrong option or made a bad pass, keeps em on their toes.
