Cahill limps off hurt
SOCCEROO TIM Cahill underwent an X-ray today after the Everton midfielder limped off in a 2-2 friendly draw at home to Werder Bremen.
The Australian, only recently recovered from a broken metatarsal which had kept him out of the game since March, was forced off during the match but assistant boss Alan Irvine insisted it was merely a precaution.
"He felt his foot which is a bit of a worry," Irvine told evertonTV.
"It is something we will check out and Tim will have an X-ray this evening.
"I have just been speaking to him now and he feels a lot better. It obviously gave him a bit of a fright about but we will just make sure he is ok.
"I thought he played well in the time he was on tonight."
The German side went ahead through Boubacar Sanogo in the 55th minute before Everton equalised through James McFadden.
Werder Bremen again took the lead through Per Mertesacker in the 86th minute before Anderson de Silva made it 2-2 on 90 minutes.
