Clubs that Bring Their Own Drinks to Away Matches

Post by Robbo »

Are there any clubs that have done this to your club in season 2006?

If they have, name them in this post.

I personally think it pathetic for a club to sell their own drinks at away matches to their supporters. It is disappointing to see some Amateur Clubs do this, at the end of the day it just hurts soccer in general.

From a committee point of view, away matches are enjoyable coz you dont have any worries, other than finding a linesman.

I tried to find the old post of this but could not locate it?? Think we should re-visit it.

A register should be made up of the clubs that do this and all clubs should boycott their canteens and bars if found to be doing so.

I havent seen any clubs that sell drinks at away games but i have
noticed supporters bringing there own to games.

Only thing worse is when u see supporters bringing drinks to their
own home games.

Ingle Farm has had only 1 home match this season, and Southern Knights supporters were terrific.

I will name a club that does do it to us here, no matter who it is.

It will be intersting to see which clubs get mentioned.

Your own supporters at home games is harsh cracker...

i doubt if any team would take their own drinks to sell, if this is happening then its a shame. Mind you I have been guilty of taking beer in my esky to certain grounds before. Especially if I know that the beer on offer is not the beer I prefer to drink. I know of one club still offering southwark gold which hasn't been on the market for a few years now. So if I dont like a yiros or a kebab on offer then I shouldnt eat at all! I cant get Maccas on the way and eat it at your ground. Maybe the problem is your bar is not offering a choice that appeals to all patrons.
Sometimes you can give away beer and some people will still prefer their own esky rather than 10 to 15 trips to a bar too far away. I do draw the line at bringing in eskies to clubrooms after the game which has happened. What I hate is ice cream vendors in the middle of winter pulling up at the club, park illegally and sell their wares to kids who risk life and limb to get a cone. Thats like the local pub pulling up and selling beer.

most non-bref clubs struggle to bring a crowd, let alone survival rations.

u may find that it is illegal to sell alcholic drinks outside your clubrooms if you have a liquer licence...

even more if ur selling beer at all and you dont have a liquer licence u are in breach of the law....

all drinks must be sold within ur clubrooms....
unless ur licence has an exclusion clause...

but we must say all clubs when away will take an esky to their games...

cracker was talking about other clubs we have noticed doing it while on our away games..florina boys buy from our own bar. and when away win lose or draw we go into the opposing teams bar and spend money there. called respect and helping other fellow clubs..perfect example is away game against inter we could of easily sold drinks from the side of our club and was closer to our bar than their own but we kept ours shut and bought food & drinks from inter..

vista made the log slog down south to the knights today and i'd like to say that although we took 3 eskies full of bevvies with us,they were for the slog home and we made the point that any drinks during the game came from over the bar(which from the sounds of it were a shite load) so those that don't .....do.......and all us clubs will make dosh over the motor car,ah.

very poor form - but the same diservice should not be performed in return..

Most clubs to visit Pine Avenue in recent seasons have been pretty good with the odd exception, most do a good job of getting back and supporting our pub too which is much appreciated as it definately helps with sponsorship

I am a little embarrassed that some of our clubs C graders turned up at an away ground on the weekend and brought their own carton with them, However when clubs are trying to charge $4.00 for a west end draught I can hardly blame them. Our club charges that for a Crownie and Corona. $2.50 for a West end over our bar!!

So the price of the beer is a factor?

Thats a reasonable arguement too i think. $4.00 is expensive, although it is also cheaper than a pub. $3.50 is a better price for beer at clubs.

clubs that charge more than 3.50 for a beer only have themselves to blame

don't want to start shite, but i sure this will, want to thank Maso's for a good hard and realitively calm game however to bringing of a couple of eskies, full of whatever was disappointing, hope they dulled the pain though of the 3-1 loss because the scotch and coke from our bar tasted absolutely fantastic after the game, cheers to all concerned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
