Gully vs ??? Derby

Hello, Good evening and welcome.
Well what can one say, Gully got the points.
Though i did think that Vista played the better football over-all, but if one scores less goals than one's opponent one finds ones's self on the losing side.
In the Reserves, 2 well taken goals by Glenn, which i'm sure felt as good for him as it did bad for us.
All the best for the remaining games, may you not win another.

MR X, unrest i think not! as for league results a disappointment, not at all ! Mate, what we as a club have done over the last 3 years is to gain promotion each year, but to step up from Div2 to Div1 is a HUGE step up,the Gully has a great mix of young players at the moment and we need to take a step back re assess our position then go for the Big step up when we are ready (not to say we arent still in with a sniff) but from what I have seen, is sides go from div2 to div1, struggle,go back down in 1 or 2 years, I believe if you make the step up you want to make sure your ready for the long haul and stay there! Div1 comes down to fitness, committment, and play each game like its a final week in week out ! Reserves have to be very solid as does your 1st team! If we are ready, we will be ready !!! Gully looking good !! Keep it going Boyz!!! Bulldog, sorry mate if you thought vista played the better football !! WRONG ! too much mixing curlies and coke !!

A TEAM OF CHAMPIONS WILL NEVER BEAT A CHAMPION TEAM!
Im glad it is hard for you to take and hope it eats at you for a bit longer.I hate vista just as much as you hate the Gully.I was injured when you beat us 8-0 4-5 years back and have been hanging for revenge ever since. Yesterday was the day. As for no one having the balls to come near you in fear of having their legs broken is quite funny. I wish i knew that was you're mindset as the verbal banter would of being flying around more than it was. Maybe you should try to win the ball and not aim for the man. I'm not sure what player you were but if you were the one on the ground when the final whistle blew nearly crying coz you lost it makes a mockery of you're signature. I believe mans finest hour .... bla bla bla. More like darkest hour.mackem in blue wrote:it is harder to swallow than you would think. didnt have chance to play in the first leg and was fired up enough to break someones yesterday but ronnie 10 was the only one that had enough balls to come close enough to me. the first goal came down to us giving the ball away in the corridor and i simply didnt have the chance to match glenno with pace, he already had 3 or 4 yards on me, finished well. the b's attacked well the first 20 minutes and had more of the posession but just couldnt score and conceded the first two goals by sloppy passing and giving the ball away too easily. second half was totally different with not enough of our boys wanting it, not enough desire. too many young lads that dont know what it is to play against the gully and have pride in the shirt and show some determination in a local derby. i wont say well done or goodluck because im a sore loser and feel as though it is partly my fault i couldnt get the team geered up enough.
if you wanna be a passenger,
climb aboard with me,
we're leaving now,
step outside and see,
another world,
only if you wanna be,

mr x..... no unrest at the gully. only 2 dissapointing games this year, vs pumas and croatia. a few disappointing results though but generally cant complain to much when close games dont go our way when the boys give their all.. good squad of players. plenty of youth at the club but need our experienced players on the park to help(was obvious against croatia last week). reserves have been brilliant all year.
getting used to these derbys 2 wins this year

Mackem I heard you saying a bit here & there so I thought i'd just return the favour a bit with some of my own. There was no malice in my tackles on you in the 1st half just wanted to shake you up a bit & I think it worked. 1st half was quite close I thought until we went 2-0 up. Our first 2 goals were from a clearance that got blocked by our midfielders. 2nd half I thought we dominated & maybe could've scored a few more. We'll take 3-0 though.
Cheers Bulldog I'm happy whoever I score against but it's always better against your old club.

Yes he is a crowd pleaser, thought he was a bit hard done by though as the only time the tackle on him was really there he got booked for diving.
thought our right back played a great game on del-boy, given that if he's got room and time he can kill teams.but as i have said gully got the points and that's all that matter really.
