adel villa left devitt oval cause of the fees the school were going to charge them but apparently the person asking the large fee didnt have authorisation..so villa got better offer at metros..

is that close to the mark diegom??

as for their pitch, i would have thought it is one of the better!!

It can be one of the better unless there has been rain, then it turns to shite, gets very boggy and where the cricket pitch is it turn very slushy and hard to move anyway but straight on, defently don't rate it from any game i've ever played there, which is bout 4 times now over 5 year period

Good luck to the Raptors boys. Honestly. I hope you do go up to Div 1 this season as I'd much prefer to play at the Beach next season and be able to have a shower after the game

But I think you'd get pumped in Div 1. You're no Ingle Farm or Adelaide Villa.

we will be honest here and say that every pitch in the amatuer division is sh*t (barring teams who play on federation teams grounds), u's are talking like ur pitch at west beach is old trafford with underground heating, good drainage, lush green grass with a nice soft soil underneath and our pitch resembes a similar surface to the moon, seriously are u's all for f*uking real, ill break the news to u that ur ground too is shit just as everyone's is, its hard as a rock and there is no good grass coverage too, who gives a f*k if ur pitch has seven bumps per sqaure metre and ours has 9 bumps per sqaure metre, reality is tossers that that they are sh*t and that all 11 players players on each team play on the same surface so get over it and stop crying about it and trying to put our club down cause they are doing well, just cause u's cant get out of div 2 dont blame us cause we are doing well.
next is the changerooms, how long do u spend in the changerooms, what 15 minutes so who gives a sh*t, just cause the changerooms in the amatuer league look better than ur house dont go getting upset, we are sorry if u dont like them we can get backyard blitz to come and give them a makeover, who gives a f*k u spend 10 minutes of ur season in our changerooms, i think u's and everyone else for that matter will be alright if they arent carpeted, chandiliers hanging from the ceiling and that guy who dries and refreshes ur hands after u have been to the toilet waiting for u. and to think its teams like u's who have a go at teams like ours for being to pretty and putting gel in our hair and all those other wog comments and u's are winging about the changerooms, get over it princesses ur changerooms are small, poorly lit, with crappy seats and one filthy shower, wether ur changeroom is sh*t or very sh*t the common theme is the word sh*t all changerooms are shit in the amatuer league.

Here's my opinion,

Predicted earlier in the year (when they raced away on top) that West Beach weren't as good as they seem. I should gamble...

West Beach's last win was a month ago 5:0 v Vikings

Since then they've only managed to score one point from the last nine.
L v Knights 0:3
D v Plympton 0:0
L v Pumas 1:2
*two shutouts

Contenders?

Only realistic contenders for promotion:
Pontian +18 30pts
Raptors +8 25pts
West Beach +15 24pts
Knights +8 21pts

The run home:
Pontian: Vikings (H), Beach (A), Bulldogs (H), Pumas (A), Raptors (H)
Raptors: Beach (H), Bulldogs (A), Pumas (H), Knights (A), Pontian (A)
Beach: Raptors (A), Pontian (H), Gully (A), Croatia (H), Vista (A)
Knights: Croatia (A), Pumas (H), Vista (A), Raptors (H), Vikings (H)

Knights have the most desired run I feel, then Pontian.
Raptors and Beach have similarly 'difficult as you make it' runs to the finish, with only one point separating the two teams. Going by how teams are playing at the moment I think Raptors can go undefeated for the rest of the season, maybe not winning all but will not lose; only possible loss I see for them to be v Pontian. On the other hand I could easily see Beach losing the next two, and possibly a third to one of Gully, Croatia or Vista. Probably tough going at the moment down at Beach, with echoes of last season promotion miss late in the season now reappearing.

Not pretenders, because they are still third; but I think this week could be the final curtain for Beach as promotion contenders for this season. A good team that's gone cold, playing in a division that this season looks to have two more consistent teams competing in it.

i reckon there's more to it than that, i just think villa would still be there if they had there time again and all was rosey.

Lets not forget the original post was about west beach

no doubt they're a quality side going through a form slump, we'll be doing our best to hope that lasts at least a week longer.

I also think the Raptors heirachy has every right to be a bit sensitive when questioned about the quality of our facilities after the work we done to get them, especially when those raising the questions are kind enough to mark our change room walls

We will endeveaur to have change rooms for opposing teams with showers up and running next season no matter what division we're in.
