I think it would be more appropriate to wait until after the competition is over as he may embarrass his doubters yet.

Just remember, the Italians were in a similar position at the last WC.

HOW? Italy topped their group beating Ghana and Czech Republic, the only bad result was a draw to USA. Still 7 points from the group stage not 4. it reminds me of past wc's were Italy has started slow however like usa 94.... were they only went through to knock outs as the top 3rd placed team in any group but R Baggio rallied them to the final.

Who would replace him with 8 hours notice.

The morons who sign the petition have no idea of the consquences.

I am not in favour of keeping him ,but you can't sack him mid tournament.
Not unless someone like Wenger, Capello etc decides to fly over and hep us out!!!!!!!!!!!!

umm that's one of the dumbest things ever written on this site - if and it's a huge if Australia win the Asian Cup he will have done a great job - not saying he will or should get the Full Time job, but if your in a competition and you win can you explain why that equates to a terrible job?

Arnold himself said before the comp started that if they didnt reach the semi's it would be a failure... so winning the comp is barely a pass.. this tournament is poor, VERY POOR quality and if Australia were to win it its nothing big.. only reasonable countries that are participating are japs, kor and iran.. but even those countries are shite when you think about it..

Rocky10, the difference between Italy and Australia is that Italy can dive better.

As for those claiming winning the AC is no big deal, then you know nothing about football.

The Asian zone may lack 'first rank' countries like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, France and Holland but they are knocking on the door.

Apart from the aforementioned countries, who else is consistently better than the top four or five Asian countries?

do you think that we give a shit that the aussies call us divers? we got fucked at USA 94 losing on penalties, France 98 on penalties, Euro 2000 on golden goal, World Cup 02 by the fuckwit ref, Euro 04 by the sweden/denmark bullshit and ibra's flick.

this was our cup and if you look at lfty's youtube then youll see the ref had every right to give us the penalty. what about the red card to Materazzi??? his tackle was bad but it got zambrotta not an aussie player.
