Youngest Goalscorer in the League ??
Yesterday in the reserves game between the Southern Knights and West Beach, the Knights only goal was scored by a 14 year old year 8 student.
Now I know its not first team or even division 1, but that has to be acknowledged as a pretty good effort, considering the age and skill of the opposing team.
Considering the recent topic regarding the oldest player still kicking, how old ( or young ) was the youngest scorer ?

No bad...14 years! West beach had to recruit a few C players into our B squad for the last couple of games. We played with a 16 yrs old upfront for the last two games. He scored last week and had a great game yesterday, keeper had a great save to deny him in the second half!!

The young lad you had up front yesterday will do well...he made some good runs and kept me ( linesman ) on my toes....as for our youngin', he has played half a dozen games for us this season ( was 13 on debut ) and has more than his fair share of chances.Beach_Driller wrote:No bad...14 years! It must be in the blood, 'cos his older brother played a few first team games for the old West End United as a young teenager.....ahh memories.
There must have been a 40 odd year difference between the oldest and the youngest player on the park yesterday for the Knights.

Didn't realise he was as young. He'll do well if he sticks at it. I gave him some verbal in round 2 this season and he didn't let it get to him. Feel bad now. All I was interested in doing at that age was masterbating! In fact, nothings really changed there. The Mexican Posted: Mon Jul 02, 2007 1:22 pm Post subject: Youngest Goalscorer in the League ??

Good question..never even thought to ask it.Beach_Driller wrote:Mexican,
The question is why is he playing for you at that age??Is there no junior teams he could join..No offence to Southern Knights but wouldn't he be better served playing at a better team in his age group???
As for his development.....i understand the school he attends is the Football focus school....i'm not suggesting thats all the development he needs, but i do think your right. Could be a very good player for his age if given the time to develop playing amongst kids his own age. Having said that, given our need for players in the reserves at the moment, he can turn up and lace up the boots whenever he likes.

Yes he's signed up with Real Madrid! But seriously his brother plays for the first team and he is related to others at the club. Is the Mexican said we are very short in the B's and he can get a came if he turns up! Hopefully he will stay around and develop probably as good if not better than playing with his own age group - will be a tough player!Mr X wrote:Is this 14 year old kid also registered elsewhere, as its strange a 14 year old kid would sign up for a full season of amatuers?
