Downs 1 Gardens 0

Post by Left Right Out »

Very Disappointed that not much has been reported or written about this game, One thing I did read was that the better team won but Ive also heard different (Gardens were unlkucky), Ross scored, game was firey, anything else? Reevesy sent off, Gardens striker sent off (with 2 seconds to go??) what for? Was there a big crowd? Cmon lets get some good feedback not just rubbish etc.

Yes a firey game...but it was always going to be. we scored in the 1st half...ross with a good header, had reevesy sent 10 mins into second for what no-one really knows, we thought it was our free-kick and the ref pulls out a 2nd yellow and he was off.

naturally we where under the pump from here on in, had a couple of chances to seal the game early in 2nd half...and pretty much defended well for the last 20 mins...gardens had some good chances to equalise...hitting the bar etc, and hullsy pulled of a couple of gutsy saves.

good derby game, thought we where worthy winners all things considered.

Some peanut with a mullet from parafield was lucky to walk away after the game, coming into our huddle and giving out some shit...

Cmon you Downs!

You can never have enough motivation for contests like these, it's why we all keep playing soccer! It was a cracker of a game, I'm just glad the points stayed at the Downs. Well deserved & we can now move on to the next challenge!

Yes indeed it was an entertaining game and certainly the Gardens had their chances but maybe it was sweet revenge that a certain striker had the last laugh?

It was good to see the Gardens players take most of the banter from a partisan crowd in all the three games in a light hearted way as well - credit to you and your club.
