Napoli offer for Real Madrid striker Cassano
tribalfooball.com - June 24, 2007
Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano was spotted in Naples on Wednesday evening.
Il Roma says Cassano was having dinner with family friends and it's been revealed he has a preliminary offer from Napoli to return to Italy this summer.
Cassano's agent, Beppe Bozzo, was contacted by Napoli sports director Pierpaolo Marino last week and his former coach, Eugenio Fascetti, is urging him to return home.
"Antonio has already wasted three years," he said. "He can rebuild his career at Napoli."

Lazio are thinking about Hedwiges Maduro, 22 years old, central midfielder of Ajax and the Dutch national team (and on occasion also the Under 21s). Also last night, as they were watching their new purchase Kolarov, the Lazio managers have followed him in the final of the Under 21 European championship final.
Maduro is not a talent that needs to be discovered; he is already quite well known. He is a midfield orchestrator with silky feet and a powerful physique: he is also useful in the defensive phase. He has also played in central defence in the past, but he prefers to dictate a match from midfield; his role models have always been Pirlo and Vieira.
A few weeks ago Maduro was proposed to Lazio, who see him as a good replacement for Ledesma. It remains a difficult operation to realise and it might take some time. The midfielder is still in talks with Ajax over his situation.
The Amsterdam club don't want to lose him and want to propose a new contract, with his current one expiring in 2008. Lazio are planning to wait and see how the situation develops and if it seems the player will sign an extension, they will come up with an offer for the talented midfielder.

don't really trust this article from goal.com, and midfielders aren't what we need right now but Maduro is a good player and wouldn't be a bad signing for lazio.

Roma Closest To Quagliarella
The Giallorossi seem the only remaining team with a possibility of signing the former Sampdoria forward following the renewal of David Trezeguet with Juventus and the transfer of David Suazo to Inter.
The queue behind Fabio Quagliarella seems to get smaller by the day as various teams are suddenly renouncing to the forward who did so well last season with Sampdoria.
The current Udinese player was being followed by many important teams, including Juventus, Inter and Manchester United, but all of a sudden these teams have found another player for that position.
In the case of Juventus, David Trezeguet renewed his deal, whereas for Inter David Suazo signed for the Nerazzurri from Cagliari. Manchester United seem to be looking elsewhere now, and from the initial number of teams lining up to sign Quagliarella, only Roma seem to have kept their interest.
For the Giallorossi, Quagliarella could represent an important investment as the Italian international player can be used as a striker or as a substitute for Francesco Totti in the Roma attacking line.
However, now all depends on Udinese's demands and Roma's availability to pay what the Friulani will ask for.

Bulgaria under-21 international goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov has joined English Premier League club Liverpool from Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia, said Levski.
Mihaylov, son of Bulgarian Football Union president Borislav Mihaylov, signed a three-year contract with an option for a further two years.
"I have no words," Mihaylov told Bulgarian sports Web site http://www.sportal.bg after passing a medical examination in Liverpool.
"This is the greatest moment of my life."
Mihaylov, who turns 19 on Thursday, made his senior international debut in a 5-1 defeat by Scotland in the Kirin Cup in Japan last May.
He was in the Levski squad in the Champions League group stages last year.

Lazio are reportedly preparing a bid for Nice’s Brazilian midfield prodigy Ederson as they look to strengthen for next term’s Champions League.
The 21-year-old has impressed in Ligue 1 with his habit of hitting stunning free-kicks, earning him comparisons with Lyon’s Juninho Pernambucano.
Juventus had been linked with a move during last winter’s transfer window, but now Lazio are reportedly lining up a big-money swoop.
“We have had contact with Lazio,†confirmed the player’s agent Patrizia Pighini on Radio Radio TV.
“Claudio Lotito [pictured] is interested because he wants a player who can set the Stadio Olimpico on fire with his skills.â€
Ederson is under contract at the Stade Municipal du Ray until 2010, but he has a clause in his contract that states he must be allowed to leave if a bid of over £8m is presented.
The Biancocelesti may face competition from city rivals Roma as well as Valencia and Lyon, as all three sides had scouts watching the promising playmaker.
After a relatively quiet spell in the market, Lazio are also set to address their goalkeeper shortage after the retirement of Angelo Peruzzi and sale of Matteo Sereni.
River Plate custodian Juan Pablo Carrizo and Inter reserve Fabian Carini reportedly top their wish list.

hopefully lotito opens the chequebook for Ederson and carrizo as well.

PAGLIUCA WANTS INTER OFFER
Veteran goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca has reiterated his desire to finish his career with former club Inter.
The ex-Azzurri custodian broke the Serie A appearance record for a goalkeeper at Ascoli last term, but is now searching for a new top-flight club after the Piceni’s relegation to the Cadetti.
“I would certainly return to Inter,†the Bologna native told Tuttosport. “I’m a 40-year-old and my years at Inter make up a very big part of my career.â€
Pagliuca played for the Nerazzurri between 1994 and 1999 after signing from Sampdoria for £7m – at the time a world record fee.
“I had such an amazing time there, I would jump at the chance to return,†continued the ‘keeper.
“I know the people there really well. I admire President Massimo Moratti and the fans have always given me a warm welcome when I played for other clubs at the San Siro.â€
The presence of Roberto Mancini on the Beneamata bench makes a deal seem all the more attractive to ex-teammate Pagliuca, who won the Scudetto with Mancio at Sampdoria.
“I am enthusiastic, but there hasn’t been any official contact with Inter yet,†Pagliuca admitted.
“Right now all I have is a burning desire to spend the last years of my career there and to win something with my friend Mancini.â€
While Julio Cesar is committed to the club, Francesco Toldo’s future is less clear and the third ‘keeper spot could be vacant if Uruguayan reserve Fabian Carini chooses to take a season loan elsewhere.

Inter prepare Barzagli swoop
Inter prepare Barzagli swoop
As Cristian Chivu moves closer to Barcelona, it has been suggested that Inter will turn their attention to Palermo’s Andrea Barzagli.
Reports in the Italian Press state that Nerazzurri officials are talking to their Sicilian counterparts in a bid to secure the services of the Azzurri stopper.
After three impressive campaigns with the Rosanero, Barzagli is believed to be keen to join one of Italy’s giants and has a close relationship with Marco Materazzi.
There were frequent reports linking the 26-year-old with Juventus last season and even rumours that the two sides had agreed a deal, but no contract was signed.
If Chivu signs for Barcelona it is anticipated that Inter officials will immediately table an offer for the Tuscan, who is seen as the heir to Fabio Cannavaro in the Azzurri set-up.
Meanwhile, Adriano has reportedly been the victim of an attempted blackmail scam while on holiday in Brazil.
Sources close to L’Imperatore insist that two men approached his agent threatening to frame the troubled star for drug dealing unless they received payment.
After the arrival of David Suazo, Adriano’s future is in the balance with rumours that he may be offered in a swap deal for Real Madrid’s Mahamadou Diarra.

Paro favours Genoa move
Paro favours Genoa move
Juventus youngster Matteo Paro is nearing a Genoa switch after rejecting a move to Empoli, according to reports in the peninsula.
The 24-year-old who scored the Bianconeri’s first ever Serie B goal during last season’s 1-1 opening day draw with Rimini, is set to leave Turin in search of regular first-team football.
The Old Lady share Paro’s rights with Siena and it had been expected that he would join Empoli as part of the terms of the deal that saw Sergio Almiron move the other way.
However, the Piedmontese player has made it clear that he would rather join newly-promoted Genoa and work with Gian Piero Gasperini.
The tactician was youth Coach at Juve when Paro came through the ranks and then helped launch his career by taking him on loan at Crotone in the 2004-05 campaign.
At the age of just 21, Paro became a pivotal figure at the Stadio Ezio Scida and earned himself the call to Serie A outfit Siena.
While his destination remains uncertain, with reinforcements being lined up thick and fast there is unlikely to be space for Paro in Turin and a move looks inevitable.

Reports in Italy suggest that Parma are on the verge of signing Fiorentina’s Brazilian striker Reginaldo.
The Gialloblu are still hoping that Giuseppe Rossi could extend his stay in Serie A, but in the meantime are looking to strengthen their current squad and have eyed the 24-year-old.
According to Sky Italia the former Treviso player could join the Ducali for £3.2m and the transfer could be finalised shortly, his agent Pedrinho has claimed.
“For the time being I cannot confirm anything, there is still nothing official,†said the Brazilian’s representative.
“But as I always said, Parma have been following my client for a long time. I have reiterated in the past that Reginaldo would only stay in Florence only if he had the certainty of playing.
“If that is not the case, he would prefer to play as a first team regular in another team,†explained Pedrinho.
Reginaldo started his career with Treviso in 2000, but he left last summer after six seasons to join Fiorentina following the Biancocelesti’s relegation to Serie B.
