Fulham

Post by Daintree13 »

Is it true they are getting some old of their old players to help bolster their reserve side for the rest of the season and the cup?

girls like chi and neits when shes down?

disappointing if so, teams that would beat them now, will now cop a hiding just because fulham are trying to save face.

Chi has just come back from injury...
However Chi played in Prems on the weekend.
Neits is only here for 5 weeks and in those 5 weeks there are only 3 games she can play and as far as I know she will be playing in Prems as well.....

I dont know where you got your info from .....

Also what would we be trying to save face from......
Our reserves have been very unlucky this year with alot of injuries......

fulham are playing by the rules, whatever they chose to do. we dont play players who are cup tied and if they arent then they are free to play in whatever team (prems or reserves) they want to

dont worry about what you have heard daintree, rumours are hardly ever true...just wait until match day and give it your best, if Fulham play within the rules then you have very little to complain about.

mate if neits plays in the reserves its coz shes purely not good enuf to get into our premier side - easy as that.............

if chi and neits play in the reserves cup game its coz they arent cup tied...

basically fulham just like any other team can do what they want with their players - if it meas playing players in the reserves coz they arent cup tied then so be it - GET OVER IT

and what krazy said tooo!!!

i think that as longs as they follow the rules there is no problem with it and two players cant change how a whole team plays players get hurt n injured all the time and other players come and fill in whats the difference if they fill in cause their ressies have players out injured or sick. i dnt see the problem here

Nenita Burgess/Neits/Burgo/Shadow

Was on that top rating (and best football radio show) on CoastFM. Campbell gave some good questions and the interview was pretty good. Apart from calling Stacey Stooco Karen Stocco, it was nice to hear that so many players have been o/s and some are still there.

Only downside? College finishes and you usually come back home.

Anyway, does o/s college experience give the girls any kudos for selection into the Matildas?

In any case good luck with studies and football in the You Ess ah Ay (BORAT).!

Downside? When College finishes you come home. ??? Clarify!!

The USA have many of their Young Matilda equivalents playing College Football.

Many good players have hung around here in the hope of Australian Selection and a some of those don't play at all anymore.

Up to selectors and coach. i guess re Australians o/seas. :) :)

As this topic is close to my heart i thought id just add my 5cents..

Since I arrived in the states almost 2 and a half weeks ago Ive noticed one very important difference in the approach to soccer..THEY TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!! the training is CRAZY, yes we run til half the team is throwing up and the pace of the game is so fast i dnt think my pace changes from sprint mode..& i totally dont believe all colleges adopt a kick and run style (well not my where i am neways)..they play beta one and two touch soccer than ive seen i ALONG time..

SASI has provided the opportunity to develop to a certain point and for those players who are serious about playing but are not at the "national" standard I believe the US college system is a great opportunity..

dont know if i made much sense but neways..

GOOOOOOO FULHAM!! GOOOOOOO SASI!!!

PS- ALL US SENIOR AND YOUTH NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS CURRENTLY PLAY OR PLAYED IN THE COLLEGE SYSTEM! AND THEY R THE BEST IN THE WORLD TO DATE SO THAT MUST SAY SOMETHING

Congrats Lollipop for stating the obviousl.

Beaches This is what I mean by Having to come back home. From the Rolls Royce to the Mini Minor. Oz is Mini Minor. We wnat to develop athletes who can run fast and jump high but do not have the flair and skill afforded to more enlightened people who have come through a more beneficial system.

Lollipop has articluated thsi very well.

Kick and run football is indemic to those who have/are running football here. ENGLISH KICK AND HOPE!

We don't have systems here that produce what it takes to be #1. NOE AT ALL!

Since i have been overseas the last 2 years, i have to agree and disagree with everything said by ppl.

In the US, there are still many college teams that do the kick and run. There is so much emphasis on the athletic ability of players, whether they can run for miles, or sprint the fastest etc. I am not saying this isnt a bad thing because these are important factors of a player. However, there are many international players in my team at mtsu, and they are miles a head of the majority or americans i have seen in the skills department. That is why our team doesnt have a kick and run style of play.

And i also think that the aussies play a more patient, skillful game than most in the college system. Yes, college games are so much more intense, but that doesnt mean the quality of individual players is any better than in aus.

Anyhoo, thats my 2 cents. haha. The US college is a very good opportunity to take up if one gets the chance :)

Interesting topic this; The College System is based on the following priorities 1. Academic 2. Leadership 3. Football.

For many USA girls having football ability it is a pathway to a Student Athlete Scholarship at a College/University. Very expensive if one is just a student. Many US girls give football away after their 4 years. Sounds like a tough life to me.

If a sports participant does not maintain a good grade point average academically then they can have their scholarship terminated.

So one can rest assured there is real intensity on the academic side also.

After all one would hope there is life after football.

The Rolls Royce Morris Cooper analogy on coming home at the end of a four year plus stint, hopefully with a College degree is a bit extreme.

Hopefully Neits and others who have this life experience are better persons as a whole. Maybe when they have run their race and do come back on the Football scene here, they will have a lot to offer to many younger players.

We all know Neits has been very committed to her club football when she is here (sure a bit of drop in standard but she does love to socialise with her friends and a brief respite from the intensity she gets put under overseas)) and State teams and SASI, she gives her best at all levels.

There are more chapters in Neits' football life yet to be written I am sure. Whatever these are I know she will be ever grateful for the grounding she has had with Fulham ,Noarlunga Lions and SASI and South Australian Womens Football overall. The foundations were strong and her work ethic has continued to carry her forward.

To Gianna I say give it your best shot, this experience will build on your character, you know the overall intensity ( mainly studies) got to Neits a few times, but hey the lows passed by. :) :) Good Luck.

final score 3-2 and it was a close one fulham only just won in the last minutes of extra time otherwise it would have been a penalty shoot out, you got to admit it was a great game and some good players at toros. Leigh has done a great job so far?
