Anelka And Tevez Linked With Arsenal
Anelka And Tevez Linked With Arsenal
With Thierry Henry’s move to Barcelona confirmed by Arsenal on Saturday morning, attention is now turning to who the Gunners will sign to replace their inspirational captain.
Manager Arsene Wenger now has just three strikers at his disposal in the form of Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott.
Jeremie Aliadiere has been sold to Middlesbrough and Julio Baptista has returned to Real Madrid after failing to impress in a loan spell.
The first names to be linked with the Gunners in the Saturday press are those of Nicolas Anelka and Carlos Tevez.
Bolton have previously made it clear that they wish to hold on to the former Arsenal striker and are likely to resist a bid from the Gunners.
West Ham are also desperate to keep Tevez at Upton Park for another season but a big-money offer from Arsenal may test their resolve.
Ajax’s Klaas Jan Huntelaar has also been linked in the last few weeks.

think tevez and huntelaar are smoke screens.
could see them signing either aguero or torres as a cash + swap deal for reyes. also have been linked to alfonso alves from heereveen. would definately like him.
if not wwould be happy to pinch huntelaar and babel.
glad we got rid of henry, overthehill.com
gunners would go mighty close to winning title with torres, alves/huntelaar and babel signing, plus a winger/midfielder from france/portugal

huntelaar or tevez i still think are our best options...torres would be nice and don't know about babel as i haven't seen enough of him

Thierry Henry admits he will miss Arsenal and claims he will be a "Gunner for life" despite his impending departure.
"Arsenal will always be in my blood and in my heart and I will always remember you guys," the 29-year-old told Arsenal TV.
"I said I was going to be a Gunner for life and I didn't lie because once you are a Gunner you will always a Gunner. The club is in my heart and will remain in my heart forever.
"I am going to miss everybody. It's going to be a huge miss. I will become now an Arsenal fan and look always for the result.
"I always gave 100%. I hope you appreciate what I did here. I appreciated what you did for me."

yeh thats what i said lol....i said we shoulda got more money for him but we did sell him at the right time as he is nearly 30 and i think he will become very injury-prone in the next couple of yearsMUFCBOY wrote:hw can u say u got a gd deal and then say u shoulda got more money for him?
arsenal cashed in at a gd time, but henry will be sorely missed! he made players play that extra 10-20% betta simply cause he was on the pitch
bigga loss then vieira

they r like 20++ points behind manutd and chelski this season ..
now with the same team and henry OUT , suddenly they will win the title
what a joke
i wonder what is the odds for arsenal to win the title now ...
seriously, it will once again a 2 horse run for the EPL title even though the season havent started yet ...

lets hope if we do sign anelka that wenger has the same influence over him when he wa spreviously at the club! i reckon though we sign babel and huntelaar - they would be great up front with adebayor and van persie as well as walcott and bendtner.....actually maybe need some experience so they need to sign trezeguet as well
also they should sign another central defender...maybe marquez

remember VP will be back and if he can find the form he had before injury last year that will be awesome for arsenal

Wow you beat us in the domestic cups, remember we had Dudek in goals! Worry baout your team before trying to shit on a team that almost won the CL Final and finished higher than your team in the last two season. Imagine if Liverpool got some good players!

like I said, if Arsenal have had such a better squad over the past seasons then why have Liverpool in your words been about equal with them over the saem two seasons?!?!?!
you have or should I say HAD better attacker/s but your central midfield doesnt have the depth of quality we have... and defence is euqal at best, I would say Pool's is more solid... but each to our won, I hope you waste 27m pounds on Torres.

i dont think we will spend that much on torres.....because reyes would be involved in the deal imoLFTWNG11 wrote:and we WON the CL before that.Rigoni 10 wrote:we finished equal on points this year and last year we made the CL final.....so based on past two years we are pretty much evenLFTWNG11 wrote:Rigoni, your posting like never before mate! Liverpool have a great defense, and are one of the strongest teams in the world at home!
I would say though both arsenal and liverpool have a few 'B' grade players in their temas at the moment thus neither can challenge for the league.
for the future it seems Liverpool want to spend whilst arsenal seem more keen to develop!
Arsenal just need a goal a finisher in the Rudd moul to put away the chances!
