Saturday Division Two
First team: Africa Allstars 1 Monarchs 0
Reserves: Africa Allstars 2 Monarchs 1
Reserves: Africa Allstars 2 Monarchs 1
Gleeson 0 Sturt Marion 0
Hard fought tussle against a team desperate for points. I must say that the pitch at Marion is a shocker, too short and narrow and impossible to play football on. Fair play to any teams who get points down there. Another pathetic display by a senior referee. Made all the first team take their 'Skins' off 5 mins before kick off. Unbelievable. He also insisted on taking center stage, blowing his whistle so often it was bizzarre. Sturt are an average team, and they will struggle to get points away from home.

There has been a new rule inforced by FIFA. Any player wearing skinsin a game they must match the teams uniform colour. You are not allowed to wear black skins under red shorts. FIFA rule applies to all leagues and the player is awarded a yellow card or the referee will ask for them to be taken off before a game like in this incidentCruyff #14 wrote:they are similar to bike shorts.
I hate the fact that some refs make you take off your skins. You are allowed to wear them. There is no rule that says your not allowed to wear skins.

Pulse,
You are half correct in your statement, but according
to many official referees I've spoken to about this
matter this season is that skins are illegal if they go
below the knee. I've seen 2 referees so far this season
in both Saturday and Sunday Division matches speak
to players about this, and told them to either remove
the skins or they would not take part in the game.
A trainer from a Sunday club also mentioned to me that the
only way you can get around wearing them is if you have a
medical certificate explaining that the skins are worn for therapeutic
reasons. Like anything, some refs apply the law and others don't
which always leads to confusion and anger from the point of view of
the players.
Bodes, congratulations on the win against the Cove, it's a pity that
the alleged remarks were made. I guess some bad habits die very
hard.
Best wishes

FLORINA 2-3 PHE
Good game from easties today considering they had three key players out. Eoin, Wade and Vidacks. PHE dominated the first half up 3-0 at the break. It could have been more hitting the cross bar and a few other clear cut chances put to waste. It was Florina's half in the second having the majority of the play. Florina hit the post as well as scoring two goals. Florina's second was clearly offside and the ref played 7 minutes of time on but East held on for a deserved win. Florina were hard at the ball but fair, played the game in the right spirit. They will be a good challenge for the Downs next week. Good luck to both teams for the rest of the year.

How does this work? does this mean someone with really black skin is not allowed to wear red shorts either???????pulse wrote:There has been a new rule inforced by FIFA.
