Post by Redders »

Interesting to note, Div 1 top goalscorer at the halfway mark only has 5. Considering last years winner bagged 21, is it another indicator the league is a better standard this year?

Div 1

DJOKO DOBRIC USC LION 5
BRADLEY DOUGLAS DONOVAN INGLE FARM 5
MOHAMED IBRAHIM PARAFIELD GARDENS 5

What do you mean he got ripped off a goal? What happened?

I couldn't believe he was on the bench when he played us, he definitely had an impact when he came on. He played on the left that day. Is he up front now? If not that is a pretty handy haul from the midfield.

Yeah mate, quite a few were shocked that day he was on the bench against East but since then has been running amok is playing just behind the front 2 now & is looking very dangerous...

The ref made a mistake on the match card against Lion that nobody picked up.. Brad scored twice.. the ref only wrote down 1 - nobody else was credited either? Just said 1 goal scored by a player!! Even though the score was 2-0!!

I disagree, Brad had been playing shocking the previous few games and deserved to be on the bench. That certainly put him back in his box, even he felt he needed that kick up the bum. Since then I cannot faulter his 100% application to trainings and in games.

goalscoring is quite low in sun div one this year (127 goals over the 90 games). avg. is only 1.41 goals per game, with even the top side below 2 goals per game. not sure if it means a better standard or just that there are no crap sides compared to the rest = close games.

other divisions

div 2 - 2.1 gpg
div 3 - 2.17 gpg
div 10 - 2.53

sat div 1 - 1.52 gpg (128 goals - 84 games)
sat div 2 - 2.36.

....come and get me Nerds FC.

Interesting stats..

Better the defence, the harder to score.

The figures are double what you have there SWP. You can't just add up the games played column on the league table, you're counting each game twice then. There have been 45 games in SUN Div 1 and 42 in SAT Div 1.

Are your stats wrong? There haven't been 90 games... Only 45!!!

There are 5 games each round multiplied that by 9 rounds = 45 games.

127 goals / 45 games = 2.8 goals a game :P

(Therefore each team is only averaging 1.4 goals a game)

PS. Div 4 average 4.7 goals a game

Good research, but there has only been 45 (5 games per round x 9 rounds) games played this year....

so 127/45= 2.82 goals per game

compared to last year

383/90 = 4.25 goals per game

This year there have been no cricket scores, last season someone was knocking at least 5 per week past Royal Park and NAB, where as this year Westies are bottom, and biggest losing margin is by 2 goals (Lion & Gardens) plus 5, one goal losses. This goes for Fulham as well 5 narrow losses and one hiding (by the current bottom team)

With Brooksy on 3 from only a few games you'd have to back him for the golden boot.
