To all those who thought Van Nistelrooy was PAST IT
Ruud van Nistelrooy Spanish Top Scorer with 25 GOALS
& - he was one goal away from tying the golden shoe with Totti
OK, Man Utd won the premier league, but it seems Fergie was a bit dumb when he thought Ruud couldnt do shyte anymore
Nicknamed 'van Gol', he deserved a championship this season, which he did with Real Madrid.
European Top Scorer next season?
Primera División Goal Scorers
1) Ruud van Nistelrooy (Real Madrid) - 25 goals
2) Diego Milito (Real Zaragoza) - 23 goals
3) Ronaldinho (FC Barcelona) - 21 goals
3) Frédéric Kanouté (Sevilla FC) - 21 goals
5) Diego Forlan (Villarreal) - 19 goals
6) David Villa (Valencia CF) - 15 goals

Yep, if you want to see the quality of spanish defending watch real, now the champions, in the first half last night. They were absolutely woeful, getting carved up.thierry wrote:the fact that kanoute and forlan are in the top goalscorers doesnt exactly lend me to the notion that it is difficult to score in spain

girls girls, ripping on the world footballer of they year... you try to marshall a defence where ur full backs are more like wingers...
italian defenders have no comparison... they are easily best...
I was thinking the exact same thing!! Kanoute couldn't hit water if he fell out a boat when playing in England, nor for that matter could Forlan. Van Horse head is a quality goal scorer though...wonder if he would have got as many in the EPL though??thierry wrote:the fact that kanoute and forlan are in the top goalscorers doesnt exactly lend me to the notion that it is difficult to score in spain
First the rotating...then the Dennis Wiseing...now the punking of me on my show. That is it Big boss...No More!

exactly but everyone has different top fiveHuntelaar wrote:everyone thinks torres is such a great player... but hes not even in the top 5
i think van nistlerooy, drogba, rooney, eto and henry are mine and not just for goal scoring but as forward players in general play but you could make a case for numerous players...berbatov,toni,alfonso alves, huntelaar, villa, torres, ibrahimovic etc

im not ripping on him for just the way he has marshalled a defence this year im ripping on him for the way he personally has played toLFTWNG11 wrote:ronaldo07 wrote:lol .. so true !!The one and only wrote:but yet the suposide greatest defender in the world and european footballer of the year cannavaro marshalls that defenceevilbob wrote:Yep, if you want to see the quality of spanish defending watch real, now the champions, in the first half last night. i totaly agree with your points about his full backs and personally i think cannavaro is a champion but even you can admit that his season has been way below par for his personal standards. he has made lots of errors and very silly errors to
I speak nothing but the truth
oh no doubt, Cannavaro has a below par year, but I think sinc Madrid have been in form he has been in form as well... and as a stopper he can only do so much, when you have wingers for full-backs and you have central midifelders who always forward (even though Capello's system usually involves one staying back, its a pemeditated mindset in Madrid and Capello hasnt curbed this), its almost impossible for the stopper not to look stupid at times... at canna has looked stupid at times this season, but when Madrid have played, Cannavaro has excelled also... hopefully he goes back to Italy to again show his true class.
All im saying one and only, he is captain of the world champions, world player of the year, footballer of the year and that deserves some credit, but im sure ronaldo07 will tell us Rio Ferdiand is better....

hi lftwng, have u ever watch his mistake in real this season (i've seen some, not sure if there's others) .. i can utube u if u want to ... that's just some silly mistakeLFTWNG11 wrote:oh no doubt, Cannavaro has a below par year, but I think sinc Madrid have been in form he has been in form as well... and as a stopper he can only do so much, when you have wingers for full-backs and you have central midifelders who always forward (even though Capello's system usually involves one staying back, its a pemeditated mindset in Madrid and Capello hasnt curbed this), its almost impossible for the stopper not to look stupid at times... at canna has looked stupid at times this season, but when Madrid have played, Cannavaro has excelled also... hopefully he goes back to Italy to again show his true class.

The point I am trying to make here is that all players go through rough patches. Was Cristiano Ronaldo a superstar in his first Man Utd season? You are not always going to play to your full potential. Real Madrid was shocking in the first half of the seaosn, yet Cannavaro is usually singled out for criticism...
